Most of you folks are probably too young to have watched or remember the TV show called
"Fridays"
I'm not :)
It ran a couple of years in the early 80s ( Imdb "Fridays" page (http://us.imdb.com/title/tt0080219/) )
Basically, SNL (Sat. Night Live) on NBC was blowing up, & "Fridays" was ABC's attempt to cash in on that market.
I liked it and I remember my brother & I watching Michael Richard's do characters & we thought he was funny, & pretty intense.
There definitely some connections between this ol' "live" skit/comedy/variety show and our beloved "Seinfeld" program.
I thought this worthy to add to our Seinfeld history :) Check some of this out.
1st off, here is the regular Friday's "players" group:

#1, I'm sure you see M. Richards/Kramer at the right, kneeling,
Then, a biggie is Larry David/co-creator of Seinfeld, back row left, standing. That's him WITH HAIR :)
To our left of Larry, is Melanie Chartoff, she played "Robin," George's gal in The Fire #83. I think she is great, really funny.
Below Michael Richards is Maryedith Burrell, she played Maryedith in 2 epis; The Parking Space #39, The Non-Fat Yogurt #71
To the left of Maryedith, sitting is Bruce Mahler, he played the loose-lipped Rabbi Glickman in The Postponement #112, The Serenity Now #159 and The Finale 1 & 2 #179 & 180.
That's 5 of these players having more than a bit to do with Seinfeld. I'm pretty sure the show was born in NY & Jer's circuit & stomping grounds. Larry connection to them probably brought them back during Seinfeld's casting.
Here's a pic of one of Kramer's.....ERRR!!! ...opps, I mean Michael Richard's "Fridays" characters, "Dick." There was definitely some Kramer in Dick (I better not switch those words around ;) ) Look at "Dick's" expression; full K-man:

Here's a vid clip of his classic character from that show, Battle Boy, this little kid who would play army man:

This is a pic from the "Fridays" rabbi bit with Larry David (left) and Bruce Malher doing Rabbi Kimmelman (AKA Rabbi Glickman in Seinfeld):

Also, the big event (non-sein like) about "Fridays" is when Andy Kaufman was the guest host, there was a big hubba hubba and scene. I don't remember all the details but he was being Kaufman-like and tore the place up, I think it's recreated in that film Man On The Moon (http://us.imdb.com/title/tt0125664/).
Here we go... here's the Kaufman story: Fridays/A. Kaufman story (http://andykaufman.jvlnet.com/fridays.htm)
Ok, that took me a week's worth of posting time... :)
