When I watch the 1st season re-runs of Roseanne on TV, they have Roseanne's name presented as Roseanne Arnold. Call me crazy, but wasn't Roseanne's name originally presented as Roseanne Barr in the 1st season?
That is correct, but when the show first went into syndication in 1992, she was Roseanne Arnold, and she had them go back and change her credit to reflect the change during the opening sequence of every episode from the first three seasons. Two years later, Roseanne and Tom Arnold divorced, and Roseanne did away with last names altogether and was "Roseanne" for about eight years or so.
Nick At Nite and Oxygen air the syndicated versions of the show, unfortunately, and not the network versions. Pity, because from what I understand, she's returned to the "Roseanne Barr" moniker.

While I can understand why they did it, I don't agree with the fact that they did it to begin with. The way I see it, it should have been kept as "Barr" for historical correctness. She was Roseanne Barr back then, not Roseanne Arnold.

she did return her name back to Barr. I beleive there was a question on Hollywood Squares asking what her name was changed to. and the answer was Barr.

If you watch the first episode of the 9th season, she;s presented in the credits as Roseanne Barr Pentland Arnold Thomas- a joke on herself.

It should have just remained Barr... didn't Laurie Metcalf(Jackie character) get married? If she did, she never changed her last name to reflect that.
