Did any of you watch the in Memorium part of the Emmys this year? That's the part of the show where they pay tribute to all the entertainers who died this year, and to my surprise there was no mention of Glenn Quinn in the entire tribute. Glenn was great on Roseanne, and even had a huge part in the hit show Angel, so you'd think they'd have paid some sort of tribute to him, but there was nothing. This has really bugged me, probably more then it should, but I just thought that was awfully disrespectful of them.

Maybe they left him out because he died in 2002.

Oh I was pretty sure it was 2003. In any case I still think they should have paid tribute to him. I mean I believe he died around November or December, so that's still within a year. The only place I ever heard of his death was here at sitcoms online, I just think it's strange that such a talented actor wouldn't get more mainstream attention.

It was 2002 when died, but they usually do all of the ones that died within that year. He did die after the 2002 Emmys took place, so yeah they should have included him.

Glenn indeed died on December 3rd 2002 on a drug overdose and that could be why the emmy's didn't mention him.

But still I think it's weird too that they didn't mention him, because they should mention everyone who died inbetween this emmy award show and the last one....

for those interest in seeing some of Glenn Quinn's last work, TNT is going to start airing Angel reruns on Monday, the 29th. Glenn Quinn played Doyle in the first season.

They are showing Angel on Sunday, the 28th starting with episode one on the WB at 11 pm. He was wonderful in it.

(Angel, the new season starts on October 1st at 9pm, taking over Dawson's Creek's old time spot. For those of you who care. :) )

Not everyone even knows who he is and the ones they did show were some bigger stars that died this year.

true.. not everyone knew who Glenn Quinn was of course he was not a bigger actor, but still he had thousands of fans during his 9 episodes on angel, which says a lot already, the cult following he scored on that show is unbelievable.

But I think you're right he wasn't known as an actor enough to probably be mentioned in the emmy's.

I definitely don't agree with that. As I was watching the tribute, probably close to 80 percent of the people they showed I didn't even recognize. In that segment they're known to show all kinds of obscure celebrities that have very little notoriety. Most of them are older people, who undoubtedly are deserving of being honored, but are unrecognized by a large number of the modern audience. Glenn Quinn on the other hand was part of a number one show for several years, as well as part of another hugely popular show. He had his whole life ahead of him, and eventually would have been one of the top stars in Hollywood. If that's not popular enough to make a tribute list, I don't know what is.
