I know that the not studieing this is changing for me this year though. :( My mom wants to know from now on every time I'm going to have a test. And she wants to see my studying. And she said if she finds out that I didnt' tell her about a test..she's going to go in the school and have the teacher call her every time theres a test coming up... :eek:

I Used to have a freind that...Was once my best friend. He srted smoking, Drinking, Taking drugs....I Decided its best if i stay away from him and its a good thing i did. Hes sleeping at girls houses now and doing other illegal and immoral thing....Thats just not my style.

How come the volume wont go up? like I put the TV volume all the way up and when the tv plays its loud like crazy but when I put the DVD, I cant hear ****...

For general problem solving, my suggestion is to:
- if you have Windows ME or XP try the System Restore (on the Start Menu, under "Programs, Accessories")
- get HijackThis (http://www.tomcoyote.org/hjt/) download the prog, then open it, click on the "Misc Tools" button, then the "generate StartupList Log" button. This will scan your system and create a list of everything running with Windows in a notepad file. Copy the contents and paste them here (or PM me with a description of the problem if you prefer) then close the program.
- get Spybot (http://www.safer-networking.org/index.php?lang=en&page=download) (i use both that and AdAware 6 (http://www.lavasoftusa.com/support/download/)
- make sure you have updated antivirus and run a full check, you can get AVG antivirus for free (http://www.grisoft.com/us/us_dwnl_free.php) or you can do a free, online scan at trendmicro's housecall (http://www.grisoft.com/us/us_dwnl_free.php)
- get a free firewall from ZoneAlarm (http://www.zonelabs.com/store/content/company/products/znalm/freeDownload.jsp) - this will tell you if something is accessing the internet (like trojans/viruses)
- try boot into safemode to see if the problem occurs there, it will be low resolution, and will have only the essentials running. While you are in there, do a disk cleanup (on the start menu under Accessories), and scandisk/chkdsk (not a thorough scan).
I would say try the suggestions above, also try run tests at PC Pitstop (http://www.pcpitstop.com/) - it will eliminate anything to do with memory etc. - how much free space on the HD? what is proccessor speed/memory?

i beleive you have to sign up for an account, but it is not a big deal - its free and all it does is track statistics of yer system performance (i dont get any spam from compUSA - yet)

OK - try closing the ones you dont need in the task mgr window(ctrl+alt+del) by highlighting it and clicking on the end program button:
Explorer - needed for windows to run (well at least for you to actually DO anything) KEEP this
Sm56hlpr - Helper utility for Motorola based SM56 software modems - CLOSE this one
Rnaapp - Remote Network Access Application - basically this is Dial-up Networking, what you need to connect... this may be part of the prob, but KEEP for now
Systray - needed, KEEP this
Navapw32 - your Anti Virus - KEEP
Astrotoolbar - Gateway Astro Screen and Sound Controls tray icon - what kinda computer do you have? - CLOSE this one i would try to disable this in MSCONFIG

try closing those 2 first then see if still a prob, then try close RNAAPP, it may disconnect you so you may not want to do it now...

do the ctrl+alt=del again, make sure the sm56 thing is gone, and close the Astrotoolbar - then see if helps at all

- you could try closing Norton (do it from the system tray icon) then see if you still have a problem, you'll have to restart it from the start menu

- you could try close the Rnaapp and check to see if it helps as well, but it may kick you offline

If they are closed, the next time you do a ctrl+alt+del the prog will not be listed in there anymore - you want to get it so you have only explorer, systray and rnaapp in there and see if you are still having a problem
