This was a excellent movie. I was watching it last Sunday. Richard Gere, Gregory Hines, Maurice Hines, Diane Lane, Nicolas Cage, Lonette McKee, James Remar, Bob Hoskins, Larry Fishburne all gave very good performances. My father told me that director Francis Ford Coppola caught a lot of heat from the critics for this movie. Why is that?

I don't know about the critics, but Coppolla banned the producer Robert Evans from the set because of creative differences.
