Screech Powers, Carlton Banks, Steve Urkel, George Costanza and Cliff Clavin are all great.

Milhouse and Martin from The Simpsons, definitely.
i enjoyed the first few seasons of "Family Matters" with Steve Urkel, before he took over the entire show and the plotlines became more and more outlandish. I remember Waldo, but not really that well.

I agree with Freakzilla,
Matthew Brock is, to me, the funniest nerd in TV. I know alot of "NewsRadio" fans can't stand Matthew (Andy Dick), but I think the show really would have suffered if he weren't there.
I also like Steve Urkel, though I'm only an occasional "Family Matters" fan.

I also like Owen Kronsky from Less Than Perfection. Owen and Matthew Brock are sort of the same character. As long as Andy Dick is playing the office spaz and not Darlene Aguileara, he's not annoying to me.

Steve Urkel. He was a f*ing crack-up. Loved him to death. I cant believe how different he is in real life. Now theres an outstanding actor.
I also liked Screech from SBTB at times; but he could get really annoying, really quick.
And dont know if he could really be classified as a nerd, but Bud Bundy is another 'nerd' I love watching. He's hilarious.

Mark Foster, on Step-by-step
Arvid Engen, on Head of the Class
Skippy Handelman, on Family Ties
Steve Urkel, on Family Matters
Ernie Douglas, on My Three Sons
Depending on the strict definition of 'nerd' one could argue whether it was, or was not true of the above characters. I found all of the above characters likeable individuals, people who I would have wanted among my friends as a kid, and in some instances with whom I could identify.
As for adults, I think Wilson on Home Improvement was an interesting 'nerd' type, although you could only see the top of his head from over the fence!

Steve Urkel without a doubt. I love Family Matters and everyone on the show. Urkel was very unique, daring, had courage, and always knew what to say. You actually sometimes feel sorry for him when that stuck up Laura keeps turning him down. Poor Steve. He cared so much for her and would do anything for her. However, miss-Laura only saw him for his demented looks and lifestyle.
Also, I loved watching Steve destroy things. Jaleel White was such a good actor, both in dialogue and physical comedy. It took talent to do what he did.

Brian Miller (Still Standing)

George-Michael Bluth (Arrested Development...isn't he kinda nerdy?)
Mark Foster (Step By Step)

Elvin (The Cosby Show)
Cody Lambert (not exactly a nerd, but super-goofy with the IQ higher than Dana Foster)
Freddy (Silver Spoons)
Barbra Jean Hart (Reba; not a nerd but nerdy characteristics; the white female Urkel)
Ricky Stratton (Silver Spoons)
Alex P. Keaton (Family Ties)
JJ Walker (Good Times)
Raj (What's Happening!!)

Who else for me but Stanley Beamish from Mr. Terrific?
Sometimes the writers of the show tried to portray him as an idiot, but Stephen Strimpell, who played the role, said that Stanley was naive and innocent, not stupid. (I believe he is seen, in a visual aside, working out a chess problem in at least one ep.) Without his power pill he was certainly considered a puny specimen. And normally he was pretty invisible to the ladies.

Yes, at the beginning of the episode "The Formula Is Stolen", Stanley can be seen playing "chess by mail". :)
And normally he was pretty invisible to the ladies.
Oh dear... I don't want to get started on this topic. It would need a thread on its own anyway (there would be just too much to write about). But the topic Stanley and the "ladies" is something that can really make me mad. And of course, this is a topic that is especially interesting for me, too.
Sometimes I got the impression that it's the other way around. Maybe the ladies were invisible to HIM... ;)
And remember that he tends to be very picky when it comes to "ladies". But this is all too much off topic in here.
