Some of my favorite movies of all time are sadly, ones that no one seems to know:

Best Years of Our Lives (1946)
Rebecca (1940)
Love Letters (1945)
My Man Godfrey (1936)
Leave Her to Heaven (1945)
Laura (1944)
The Razor's Edge (1945)

Well, thank God some people can remembr Casablanca! :)

I enjoy the films of the Marx Brothers, particularly "Animal Crackers," plus the films of Laurel and Hardy. Not too many people are familiar with their work anymore.

And it always breaks my heart when someone gives you that confused look when you menion "Citizen Kane."

;)

Ouch! Citizen Kane! That hurts. :(

I know the Marx Brothers! I went as Harpo for Halloween one year (my sister went as Groucho!)

Liza, "Rebecca" and "My Man Godfrey" were awesome.

The Awful Truth (1937)
Destry Rides Again (1939)
The Mark (not Mask) of Zorro (1940)
The Paleface (1948) and Son of Paleface (1952)
The Man in the White Suit (1952)

Really, there are so many. Some good ones, like "The Lady Vanishes" and "It Happened One Night," are thankfully remembered by many people.

Here is an old movie (and a said to be infamous and bad one at that) that nobody remembers:

The Terror of Tiny Town.

Basically it's an all-midget western.

I believe the world has forgotten about my favorite childhood movies starring Shirley Temple...

Now and Forever (1934)
The Blue Bird (1940)
Whatever Happened to Baby Jane? (1962)
Village of the Damned (1960)
Children of the Damned (1963)
The Little Princess (1939)
The Asphalt Jungle (1950)

The Last Man On Earth (1964)
It Came From Beneath The Sea (1955)

Agreed! Did you ever see W.C. Fields? Unlike most old comedy, his never seems dated or old-fashioned. Some of his better movies were:

The Old Fashioned Way (1934)
It's a Gift (1934)
Man on the Flying Trapeze (1935)
Poppy (1936)
You Can't Cheat an Honest Man (1939)
My Little Chickadee (1940)
The Bank Dick (1940)
Never Give a Sucker an Even Break (1941)

I also forgot Holiday & Slyvia Scarlett ( both with Katharine Hepburn, and Cary Grant).

OMG, another Jennifer Jones fan? Can it be true???

I loved Since You Went Away! Portrait of Jennie and Love Letters - all with Joseph Cotten ;) (They also made Duel in the Sun together, but we don't need to bring that one up) ;)

Shirley Temple was wonderful in Since You Went Away too! But for me the best actor was Robert Walker (Jennifer Jones's ex-husband). Poor guy - she totally broke his heart. :(

To those Shirley Temple fans - any of you see "I'll Be Seeing You" with Ginger Rogers? That's my absolute fave. "Bachelor and the Bobbysoxer" is another :)

Wow, Ashley, I'm really impressed with how much you know about the classic films for someone as young as you are. It's very admirable to know about and respect the best things from the past. Especially when so many people know so little about their own cultural history.

Thanks Brandon!! I was born in the wrong time period!L OL. My dad actually got me started on the classics. I am grateful to him for it too!. I really want to be a physical comedian.. so it helps to watch all these slapstick comedies!
