RECORD NUMBER OF VOTES RECEIVED AS JOSH GRACIN IS ELIMINATED FROM THE 'AMERICAN IDOL' COMPETITION
ONLY TWO WEEKS AND THREE FINALISTS REMAIN
Don't Miss the Best Night of Television as the Newest "Idol" is Crowned in an Exciting Finale May 20 and May 21 on FOX
Three finalists remain as the competition heats up on AMERICAN IDOL. After Tuesday night's performance show, 22 million votes were received -- the highest number of votes EVER received for AMERICAN IDOL. In a dramatic results show last night, it was revealed that 22-year-old Josh Gracin was eliminated from the competition. Gracin resides in California with his wife and daughter and is also on active duty in the United States Marine Corps.
Now, Clay Aiken, Kimberley Locke and Ruben Studdard will vie for the AMERICAN IDOL title. Who will win? Tune in next week to see the final three perform two songs -- one chosen by the judges and one the finalists choose themselves -- on Tuesday, May 13 (8:00–9:00 PM ET Live/PT Tape Delayed), and find out during the one-hour results show Wednesday, May 14 (8:30–9:30 PM ET/PT) which two finalists will make it to the grand finale.
Then, America will decide the winner during a spectacular live two-part grand finale at the Universal Amphitheatre on Tuesday, May 20 (8:00–9:00 PM ET Live/PT Tape Delayed) and Wednesday, May 21 (8:00–10:00 PM ET Live/PT Tape Delayed) on FOX. Tuesday evening's show will feature the final competition performances between the two finalists and Wednesday's final episode will reveal the results of America's votes and crown the next AMERICAN IDOL.
The second season of AMERICAN IDOL continues to dominate its time period in key demos. "American Idol" Tuesday and "American Idol" Wednesday rank as the third and fourth programs, respectively, of the 2002-03 broadcast season among Adults 18-49 and Adults 18-34 and No. 2 and 1, respectively, among Teens.
