Ohhh!! For the love a' PETE! Disney has a rule that it only lets original shows to go for only 65 episodes. There is nothing anyone can do about it! So please, everyone stop asking and talking about it! There is no point!

Actually, I was reading an article today that said that there might be another series, or perhaps a sequel to the movie, providing Duff will do it. I think the series would air on ABC, though, and nothing's official.

The reason is twofold -
First, Disney only allows 65 episodes of original programming so they dont become available for syndication by other networks. Disney is VERY proprietary about their programming.
Secondly, The age demographic for Lizzie is 9 - 14, the 'tween' audience. The show wouldnt work as well (they assume) with pre teens watching teenagers in high school.
Now, I have heard the 'Lizzie in high school' rumors as well. It would be interesting, and I would certainly watch it, on WB or ABC or whatever.
That being said, Disney did just sign for a sequel to the movie, but Hilary hasnt signed on yet. I assume, no Hilary, no Lizzie.

Even before the 1st Lizzie McGuire movie, Disney already has a second in the works!
Last I've heard Lizzie has yet to sign up for the 2nd movie ... it would be kind of hard to do without her :) ... so far the 1st movie seems to be doing pretty well ... 1st weekend in theatres = 17 mil (#2 spot).

How long has the first movie been on in theaters? I have watched for it to come on the Disney Channel. Now, I know why they didn't show on TV yet, because it is still in theaters. Maybe if it is still on where I live, I may go to it. I live in WV. What's the name of the movie?

I want to see it on WB or ABC like a sitcom like "Boy Meets World."

It's that thing that Disney can onlyhave 65 episodes, so its not like Hilary Duff wants to leave, it's that Disney can't have more then 65 episodes. It's a stupid rule, if you ask me, but oh well.

Lizzie should be produced by ABC, if it's moving to ABC, but the reruns should still be produced by Disney. I don't know if that makes sense, or if they can even do that, but it's just a thought. That way, we can get our Lizzie High Years, and still have the reruns on Disney! It's a thought.

Most of you guys are clueless when it comes to this topic.. Yes, Disney does have a rule that you cant have more than 65 episodes and thats why if they did want to make a new season they could easily move it over to ABC (which owns the Disney Channel) BUT, Hilary Duff and Disney had a few problems and Hilary didnt sign a contract for more Lizzie... so no Hilary- no Lizzie.. So Hilary IS the reason why there is no more Lizzie..
and if youre going to be so rude about people posting a subject twice, you should really take a brake from M/B's because thats what happens when theres newbbies.. you shouldnt be such an ass.. you should really calm down. (Frasier W. Crane)

I agree. But Hilary isn't greedy. Susan Duff (mother) is making all the demands for more money, not Hilary, contrary to what I've heard on a lot of Hilary sites claiming to be "official".
