Origins of Rock

I love music from the late 50s and early 60s. Does anyone else like this era? You could call it the pre-Beatles sound, although it overlapped slightly with the Beatles. I like the Beatles a lot, but they were preceded by a sound that is among my favorite styles of music. Here are some of my favorites from this period:

Whatever................. I guess what I really meant that before the Beatles all there was were boring girl groups and Bobby Vinton ,etc.:eek: At least the Beatles had an original new sound Pop or not! I was there! Believe me, music in the early 60's sucked! But I defend your right to your opinion. It's just that I hated it!(the music I mean!):lol:

Oh yes,I love 50's and 60's music,as well as 70's and 80's music,too.After the 80's,music really took a nose dive(IMO). :)

Thanks for answering my post, but I have to disagree that the early 60s were bad, because together with the late 50s, they are my favorite period of music. If I wanted to characterize early 60s music, I might describe it as the style of music that was shown in the movie, "American Graffiti." I will repost those of the above songs that are from the 60s (this time in chronological order) as evidence that there was good music during these years. I like the decades since, but this is my favorite period.

Well, since you mentioned the origins of rock and roll...

Hank Williams Sr. His sound would've been pure rock if he'd had a little mor electric guitar and a drumset.

It was Hank Sr. crossbred with the blues that made Rock.
