View Full Version : Munsters are taking the Cleavers Time Slot

I am a fan of the Munsters as well as Leave it to Beaver. The word on all the Munsters board is that beginning June 2nd, the Munsters will be airing at the 7Eastern/6 Central PM slot, which is currently occupied by Leave it to Beaver. Has anyone heard what time the Beaver is moving to?

I just found out that they are just cutting out the 7CST Pm slot and will now only be showing it at its two other slots.

If anyone wants to see the new schedule, go to mortystv.com. TVland is dumping some shows and has moved a lot of shows around. I have a feeling there are going to be a ton of people po'd.

Guys, relax. Leave it to Beaver has been aired almost non stop on TV Land since 1998. It's nice TV Land is giving The Munsters better treatment.
At least Beaver is still on twice (11:30am & 10:30pm) and not on at like 3am, or not on at all. Don't get me wrong, I like Beaver too, but it's been on forever, and The Munsters has had ONE timeslot for a while now.
Just calm down and enjoy the fact the show is even on. At least it gets a primetime spot.

I don't care how long LITB has been aired on TVLand or what treatment it has received in the past. I love watching LITB and I have no interest whatsoever in seeing "The Munsters." Seeing it in prime time years ago was sufficient for me. I have sent a complaint to postmaster@tvland.com.

I understand that. I wasn't trying to start anything, I'm just saying that true, not everyone is going to be happy by a time change, and the other times may not be accessible, The Munsters must have been doing well enough on TV Land to be renewed (like Leave it to Beaver was in 2001) and get better treatment. I was just suggesting that all of you can be happy the show is on, and pretty good timeslots too. That's all. No harm done.

I had a premonition just the other day that the schedule was going to be changed around. I don't like it either, I only like to watch The Munsters around Halloween time. I am happy that they are bringing Bewitched back though.

If enough people write to them and complain (e.g. at postmaster@tvland.com), it will probably be taken into account. At least they will note the fact that many people were not pleased. I urge people who love the show to take a moment and complain.

See what I mean? Now, I'm not telling you all what to do, but I'm just suggesting instead of worrying about it so much, just enjoy the fact that the show is even on, and at two fairly decent timeslots. What about Batman fans? That comes on ONCE at 4:30am. Same thing for Superman. Charlie's Angels. Barney Miller.
I DO like Beaver, but I'm not all that upset about it moving timeslots, the other two stay the same.

I'd rather The Munsters have different timeslots, 7pm and 10:00am aren't all that great for me, at least, but I'll live, lol.
It's just a matter of getting the programmers to listen, which they hardly do.

There are many fanatical LITB fans. Even if the programming people don't give in, they will remember that the change was very unpopular in certain quarters, and it may influence their behavior down the line.

Well, if the ratings are less than Beaver was there, you can bet they'll move it, because, honestly, ratings are the only thing that matters anymore.

I rarely, rarely ever get to see Batman. It's like once in a blue moon. I'm happy I recorded them while they were at a decent time slot.
I didn't speak my mind on Beaver, but I'm agreeing with Shawn. Beaver has had some good time slots and you know how they move stuff around. I went from watching TVL all the time, to barely watching it. I'm just saying, everybody better watch their backs. Beaver could end up at the lonely 4 a.m time slot and then nobody will get to watch it, unless you love staying up really late or you gotta get up and go to work early. Tape it while you can. Just tape it while you can and then the hell with TVL. If you got all the eps on tape, you can pop that little baby in and watch it all day long. TVL can't give daily all day Beaver marathons. Just tape it is the best advice I can give.
*I'm not saying Beaver is destined to end up at the 4 a.m timeslot. Maybe it'll get a good slot again after awhile. I'm just saying, you gotta be prepared.

Thats exactly what I'm doing now Jenny. So far I'm up to 9 tapes which is about 10 eps a tape. Pretty soon I'll be set for a LITB marathon. I can't wait.:D
I'm not really to upset about the monsters taking the spot. I mean how long has it been on 3 times a day? Thats a lot.

The Munsters deserves one time slot only, forever. The reason why, I personally am so ticked off with this future change is the mere fact that The Munsters has so few episodes, it doesn't deserve 2 time slots a day. (I don't even think shows like the Brady Bunch with 117 should air 2 new episodes a day.) Leave it To Beaver, however, has so many episodes, it deserves 2 episodes a day. And that's the way they are keeping it thankfully. So I totally hear what you're saying in your other posts on here. I am glad they aren't shaking things up too much. Still mad, (the morning showing doesn't fit into my schedule), but I can still watch the other.

Be fair guys. Beavers has had a good timeslot for a long time, And 10:30 Isnt that bad. The Munsters is a good show and deserves a chance. At least LITB isnt being taken off fulltime.

But seriously, you're right, they could take it off completely. But I think the only way to make us truly happy is to have a 24 hour LITB network. All the Beav All the time. Now that I could live with! :D
