Does anyone know how tall Jerry Mathers was when the show ended? What about Tony Dow?

I have no idea how tall they were, but one thing I always noticed about Jerry Mathers is that when he's an adult he seems to be so short, but when he was on the show he was tall or at least average. So, I don't think he shrunk, but it seems weird. I just wonder how tall he is now, because he seems pretty short.

Jerry Mathers said how tall he was when he was on Entertainment Tonight several months ago. I think it was 5'8". The reason he said his height was because he was talking about how much weight he used to carry on a somewhat short frame.

I do know that as adults, Jerry Mathers is a bit taller than Tony Dow.

This is all interesting. I was just wondering about this not long ago. Glad the topic got brought up here. If Jerry is 5'8 and a bit taller than Tony, then Tony is a lot shorter than I thought. I did think he wasn't "on the tall side" during LITB because compared to Barbara on the show in the last season, she still looks taller than him especially if she's wearing high heels. Barbara does look tall for a lady though, so that didn't tell me much. And, when I went to the New LITB board and saw the picture, I figured Tony grew more after the show because in the picture he seems taller in comparison to Barbara than he did on LITB. Of course, she may have shrunk as she got older, and who knows what kind of shows she's wearing in the picture. So I basically couldn't judge it on my own. It's cool I got the scoop from you guys on here. Thanks. :wave:

Barbara revealed her height in a newspaper article earlier this year. She's 5'5. She looks a lot taller than that to me, though. So if she was taller than Tony, then Tony is pretyy short.

Since she said she was 5'5 earlier this year, maybe she did get shorter as she aged. I agree with you though, she has always looked taller than that to me. Anyway, maybe he is actually taller than her during LITB when she's wearing flatter shoes, and they're about the same when she wears heels. I probably exaggerated in my last post. So maybe he's about 5'7? It's funny how some people appear a lot taller than they really are.

he was taller than wally in the new leave it to beaver. i never seen the new leave it to beaver but theres a picture with june wally and beaver and there children and beaver looks taller.

Was Hugh Beaumont short? He didn't appear to be much taller than Barbara Billingsly and I had figured she was about 5'7" to 5'9". I have a hard time believing she's only 5'5" unless she did shrink as she got older. In the last season, she was still taller than Wally and Beaver.

I agree with TheHappyBurgerMeister. For some reason I always think that Beaver is kinda tall in the last season. But then I remember he's only about 5'8" now.... It's weird. :crazy: LOL
