It seems to me that one major characteristic of LITB is that most of the episodes project a strong moral message. What do you think are the ethical values the writers are trying to convery, do you agree with their viewpoint, and do you find this feature of the show attractive or not?
I'll go first. One of the recurring themes of the show is to tell the truth and to be honest. Beaver is often punished for lying, as when he plays in his good suit and gets a tear in it, and then claims that a dog ripped it. Whenever Ward and June find out that they were wrong about something, they admit it. June apologizes to Beaver for falsely claiming that she would wear the atrocious blouse that he bought her for her birthday. To me, the fact that the show projects a strong and firm ethical code is one of the attractions. I think that there are a number of recurring moral themes. What other ones do you notice?
