Happy Passover.





In Judaism, the holiday commemorating the liberation of the Hebrews from slavery in Egypt. Before sending a plague to destroy the firstborn of the Egyptians, God instructed Moses to tell the Israelites to place a special mark above their doors as a signal for the angel of death to pass over (i.e., spare the residents). The festival of Passover begins on the 15th and ends
on the 22nd (in Israel, the 21st) day of the month of Nisan (March
or April). During Passover only unleavened bread may be eaten, symbolizing the Hebrews' suffering in bondage and the haste with which they left Egypt. On the first night of Passover, a Seder is held, and the Haggadah is read aloud.

thanks! are you Jewish also? Im only half...im also catholic..but I sometimes celebrate Passover, not so much anymore

I'm a quarter Jewish. (If you can call that Jewish). My grandfather on my dad's side was Jewish, but he married out of his religion and my mom is catholic or christian or something. I heard that a person is only Jewish if their mother is. But, somtimes I figure I should just consider myself Jewish because if I was ever in a holocaust I would probably get killed since my grandfather was Jewish.

Btw, I should mention that there is a difference between a holocaust and THE Holocaust. A holocaust is simply defined as a fiery event and THE HOLOCAUST during WWII was what Hitler's Final Solution meant for the Jews, the widespread destruction of all Jews and non-Aryans. I've read a holocaust as refering to things other than the one in Europe in the 40's, like with destruction by volcanos, etc.

I didn't know there was a difference. I meant the Holocaust during World War 2 that involved Hitler.
