LOS ANGELES (Zap2it.com) - Saturday (April 12) was a slime-filled night at the Barker Hangar in Santa Monica, Ca. at Nickelodeon's 16th Annual Kids' Choice Awards.
It was the kind of awards show where Justin Timberlake won a red carpet competition for celebrity burping and where the night's climactic moment involved Jim Carrey trying to spread green goo on host Rosie O'Donnell.
The show wasn't all fun, games and belching, though. Serious awards were given out. Hilary Duff's Disney Channel juggernaut "Lizzie McGuire" was named favorite show in the online kids' voting. Duff, however, lost out to Amanda Bynes for favorite actress. Bynes, recognized for her work on both "The Amanda Show" and The WB's "What I Like About You," also nabbed the prize for favorite movie actress for "Big Fat Liar." The award for TV actor when to Frankie Muniz of "Malcolm in the Middle." The winner for animated series was "SpongeBob SquarePants."
On the film side, Austin Powers in Goldmember" may have won favorite movie, but Adam Sandler was the big winner, picking up favorite movie actor (for " Mr. Deeds," not the esoteric " Punchdrunk Love") and favorite voice from an animated movie for " 8 Crazy Nights."
No Doubt, B2K, Tony Hawk, Nelly, Ashanti and Avril Lavigne were also winners. Will Smith received the Wannabe Award, given to the celebrity kids most want to be like."
