I read on http://www.thefutoncritic.com that tonight's season finale might also be the series finale as the show is "near death" so we'll see....

Wouldn't surprise me. I'll watch anyway though.

"Ed" has been threatened with cancellation for the past two seasons. Hopefully the ratings have improved since the show was moved to Friday nights, if not, this may very well be the final episode...

Uggghhh!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Not Ed and Carol together! NONONONONONONONONO!!!!!!!!!! :barf: They're a horrible couple. Ed and Frankie would have been better, or Ed and Molly, or even Ed and Bonnie Hayne, but NOT Ed and Carol. This was MY last Ed episode :( Once loved it, but now watch out of habit.

Great! Ed and Carol are finally together. Now that the whole "will they or won't they" thing is finally out of the way, maybe the show can get back on track.
- More comedy, less melodama.
- Get Ed back in the courtroom. Some of his cases were really funny.
- More Dr. Jerome. That guy is hilarious.
- More comedy folks! If I want heart wrenching drama, I'll turn off the TV and deal with my own life!

I have read that "Ed" has been winning it's time-slot on Fridays. If that's true, it would be very surprising if NBC cancelled the show. But NBC did cancel Providence, a show that wasn't that great but did pull in good ratings for Fridays. Maybe "Ed" could benefit from any feelings of hastiness in cancelling a show that can get good ratings for a Friday night.

It was nice to see them together, but that was too predictable. After three years, seems like there should be more to it than that.

I think they didn't say it was the series finale because then it would have been too predictable of who Ed would choose. By saying it was only the season finale left possibilities that Ed and Carol may not get together and do the off and on thing next season. I don't know where they would go with it if it comes back next season, but like Freakzillait said it has been winning it's time slot on Friday, so who knows.
