Did the actor who plays Mark really have gastric surgery or something? He looks like he's lost a ton of weight. He looks pretty good, actually.

Yes he did have gastric bypass surgery in real life, and the creators of "Ed" decided to make it part of the storyline.
It's amazing how much weight he has lost so far.
