I cannot believe that All in the Family is being replaced by WINGS. That's like replacing Three's Company with Punky Brewster. And the worst part is stupid shows like Cosby Show, and Cheers remain in the lineup. N@N gets worse and worse with it's show selection and the way the network chops up episodes. N@N should go for it all and replace Happy Days with Step by Step-I will never grab my remote and turn to N@N again.

Personally, I'll take Wings over All in the Family any day. They could cut down on The Cosby Show and Cheers. I like both shows, but 4 episodes of each a night is a little too much.

Wings? That show should be on at 5am in the morning. Everything is better than Wings. Wings show be aired on PBS. I think that would be a nice fit. Hey Pav, any chance of PBS picking up Wings for Good?

I haven't seen Wings yet but I have high hopes that it will be a good show. I really don't think it show be aired on PBS at 5am. I personally think it's a good addition to N@N and fits in well with Cheers. And besides what's so bad about PBS anyways?

I love Wings and Cheers too. If you don't like them, then just don't watch.
ETA: I'm sure N@N isn't the only channel offered on your cable service.

Werm Well that's all based on opinion, and I'm sure there are people out there who think N@N is the best network on the face of the Earth. Some people like Wings, though I personally have never gotten the chance to see it. I love AITF, but it was on TV Land from 1998 until 2002 and on N@N from 2000 to 2003, and Wings hasn't been on as much. Same with Coach and the other shows it has. And Punky Brewster has it's fans too. I don't really like N@N that much anymore [well, the primetime part anyway] but I guess they could be worse...they could pick up 6 episode wonders and run them four times a night.

I Have never seen Wings. Ill give it a try anyway.
But yeah...They seriously gotta cut down on Cosby Show and Cheers. I Imagine they will when Roesanne (Ugh) and Full House come.
And next Year....Fresh Prince! :D

Now that AITF is leaving Nick-at-Nite in April, there is still hope that it may come back to TV Land, and I think it will, if not soon. I don't know what's going on with The Cosby Show and Cheers, but it looks like Nick-at-Nite is giving them an awful lot of support. Their idea of slicing up their shows, is taking a large effort when airing their shows, leaving their shows with only 21 mintutes, which I think is a large portion that is took away from their shows.
Atleast Nick-at-Nite is taking a lot more advatage to their shows, and for once they are 'bringing back' some of their 'former' shows and delivering 'classics' once again, for instance The Brady Bunch and Happy Days for awhile replacing them with Pefect Strangers and HOTC, which was a huge step on their part, and still keeping partly the 'definition' of Classic TV.

Ditto, I think that will be the best time to move into that particular time-slot, when or if, it comes to TV Land, it will be a great addition to the "Twice As Nice" block.

I hope that Nick at Nite will start showing the first season of Charles In Charge that aired on CBS. I wish that they would put Perfect Strangers, Head Of The Class and Charles In Charge at an earlier time. Full House belongs on ABC Family, not Nick at Nite, unless they are planning an afternoon block with Full House and Sabrina on there in the Nick afternoon block. Roseanne definitely does not belong there at all, because it is very controversial, and TBS is airing it 3 times a day now.Roseanne's best years were from 1988-1991,the rest of the show went downhill from there. Too many controversial episodes after that. And bring Three's Company back to a decent time slot. Three's Company is a Million Times better than Roseanne.
P.S. The Halloween Roseanne Shows aren't worth watching either.

Head of the Class wasn't shown regularly on TV for a while, so I'm kind of glad N@N picked it up...even though I won't get to see what the new N@N looks like until September. lol I'm proud to say I have been N@N-less since November of 2000, so I'm sure that there's a huge difference between then and now.

TV land should pick up AITF once Gidget runs out, and the best news would be to air the unaired ABP episodes also.

I hope TV Land doesn't pick up All in the Family. Seriously, both TV Land and Nick at Nite have run that show to the ground. Two episodes a day of All in the Family EVERYDAY not too forget the additional airings on Box Sets, Sundays Bests, Specials, ect. All in the Family needs to take a rest like its spin-offs Maude and The Jeffersons are currently doing. Instead of TV Land airing AITF, they should pick up a show that hasn't aired for awhile (meaning like more than three years) such as The Addams Family, Mork and Mindy, or The Lucy Show. But if the decision came down to AITF moving back to TV Land, I would rather have them air the shorter version of Archie (Archie Bunker's Place) for awhile and then add AITF later.

You really like The Lucy Show? Yeah, TLS is kind of a rare show. I haven't got anything against Lucy, but they should let I Love Lucy rest for awhile. ILL has been on for so long. They should give it a break and maybe air TLS. Just wondering, but has ILL been in reruns since it went off the air originally?
Again, not trying to piss off any Lucy fans or start anything. Just stating my opinion.
Let me add something to the whole AITF/ABP thing. Okay, if AITF is added to TVL, I wished they would show ABP right after it. You know, like if AITF comes on at 4 p.m., let ABP come on at 4:30. When they go through the ABP rotation about 3 or 4 times, drop ABP and show Gloria. Once Gloria is over, add something else. That would be so cool.

I won't tell all my thoughts about N@N because it would be to long, but I hate the fact they are airing shows from the late 80's to early 90's and believe me I let them have it a couple of times. I loved it when N@N would air classic shows, I'm only 19, but I will take the older shows over the newer shows any day. I hope AITF and Three's Company both go to TvLand so I never again have to watch N@N again.

I like Nick at Nite better when it showed classic shows from the 1950's to 1970's. Even though I'm happy about "Wings" coming, I can see why it would upset people, since it is from the 1990's. The reason I get so upset over Nick at Nite's schedules, is because I've always respected Nick at Nite. It always seemed like Nick at Nite was the best place for a show to end up. I remember a day when I couldn't find a Nick at Nite show on another channel, and I loved that. Now I watch N@N shows on a couple other channels too. There's no need for the once great Nick at Nite. But, that's just my opinion.
As for the AITF/ILL fiasco, I'd rather AITF be on TV Land than Nick at Nite anyway, although I really don't care either way. Eventually the entire show will be on DVD. I actually like ABP, so I hope that stays around for awhile. ILL, although I think it's been overplayed, there are new generations of kids just discovering that show who haven't seen it. So even though most of us may have seen every episode a hundred times, the newcomers haven't. Although eventually, that too will have every episode on DVD. So I guess, in the end it really doesn't matter. Every show will be on DVD and no need for syndicated reruns. Okay, maybe that's a bit much.
I also agree that TV Land should show more rare shows. I'd like "Chico and the Man" to return. It had such a short run. To my knowledge, TV Land was the first channel to rerun it since the 70's.

Well, my thoughts on N@N are simple: THEY SUCK !!!
Now for the diatribe:
This network has went to total garbage since all they show are stupid shows from the 1980's and 1990's and they show them way too much. I hated these shows when they were new and I hate them now. I sure wish TVLand would pick up some more B&W shows like: Patty Duke, Ann Sothern, Sgt. Bilko, Mr. Ed, Car 54 and others that they showed when they had a good network (15 years ago). Although I am a big Lucy fan, I'm sick of ILL and would much rather see Here's Lucy, or at least bring back the Lucy Show. I haven't seen Here's Lucy in nearly 20 years now since I didn't get PAX when they ran it for a short time a few years ago. I don't know who does programming at N@N but I suspect it is the same type of people who run Game Show Network and their attitude is appeal to the 18-34 year old audience and to hell with the rest of the people. Well, I'm only 33 and it sure doesn't appeal to me. Now it's time to go watch some good tv, something I taped 10 to 15 years ago...

Mister Ed comes to TV Land this September.
Other than that, I believe some of those shows are in Hallmark's survey at their website, if you would like to vote in which shows you think should come to Hallmark. The link is below:

I think I've already mentioned this theory, but yeah, here we go. Not all channels do this, but most are trying to get on the generation wagon. A few years ago the channels still catered towards the older viewer because the 18 and under in 2003 were still too young then. As the 18 and under now get older, channels start catering towards the younger viewers.
Okay, I'll take N @ N as an example. They must figure that an 18 year old would not want to watch something from the 50's, 60's or 70's. We want to go back to their year. We want to go and revisit the 80s and recapture that. Maybe bring it forward into the 90s, but we simply can't go back past the 80s. These teenagers just would not know who some of these people are. Some might be turned off by the 50s and 60s because the shows were in black and white.
Test my theory out. You go up to a teenager in your town and ask them who so and so is (insert classic tv star). I admit the teenagers and people on this site are very knowledgeable about classic tv. Before I even came to this site, everybody in my school prob. thought I was weird. Well, a few others in my school liked classic tv. Most of them just didn't know that much about classic tv and every time I brought up something from the past, I'd get these weird looks.
Well, let me get back to the original topic. Okay, fast forward a few years. Uh, lets go to 2015. That sounds like a good year. The 80s will be just like the 50s, 60s, and 70s to the teenagers of 2015. Most teenager prob. wouldn't know/care about the shows of the past. That's when N @ N will show tv shows from the late 90s through maybe 2008, something like that.
So basically the older viewer is getting the screw over now. You just wait a few years. The teenagers from 2003 will be joining that screw over line. jmo

You have a good point there, Jenny. I must admit, I myself really don't care for a lot of the shows from the 50's and 60's, mainly because I just don't relate to them. They are before my time (I'm almost 22.) and they don't appeal to me at all. On the other hand, I enjoy watching shows from the mid 70's to mid 90's period because they are shows that I enjoy watching and I can relate to them.
I think there should be more shows for the older generation to enjoy though, both in reruns and in current TV.

The Nick at Nite Fall 1998 Line-Up is my favorite N@N schedule. I remember looking forward to The Brady Bunch at 9, The Wonder Years at 9:30, Happy Days at 10, Laverne & Shirley at 10:30, I Love Lucy at 11, Bewitched at 11:30, and Mary Tyler Moore at 12 all right in a row! That was the best one ever! I wish either Nick at Nite would go back to that line-up or have TV Land re-create it.

Oooer! N@N sounds like an awful station! I'm glad we don't get it here!
Personally I like both Wings and Punky Brewster. Wings especially, I always thought it was miles better than Cheers (which I also like but find kinda dull a lot of the time). And Punky Brewster was just cute. Sure it wasn't an award worthy show but it was sweet and gave the kids something to watch.
