I missed last night's episode 2/27. I thought I was taping it, but my vcr screwed up.
Can anyone fill me in? Thanks.
More friggin nonsense!
Jake still has Dylan on the brain, so he blew it with the other one. She put the kaibosh on their budding relationship.
Dylan was wavering, but she decided to stick with the blond anchor guy. Too bad Jake still has feelings for her.
I'm going to stick my head in the oven for a while, because i can't friggin believe I am actually following the plot of this show!

also, Frank Alfano (Jere Burns' character) didn't appear at all. Accident? I hope so. Hope he doesn't get the Sister Brenda and Lucia treatment and end up out of this.
And TJL, what in the world is it about this predictably mundane plot that a 5th grader could call, that keeps us coming back each week? (at least when NBC decides it feels like showing it) I really just can't seem to figure out why I watch this either. Hell, I don't even watch ER usually when this thing's over, so I have no reason to keep it on NBC.
Possible reasons:
----------------------
--Maybe I just feel sorry for it
--Maybe I feel sorry for Penny (having been in that situation myself too many times)
--Maybe I'm hoping someone will kill Gavin
--Maybe I'm just sticking around to see who the last character standing will be when the NBC pink slips finally come to an end
--Maybe I'm just waiting to see if Jake finally says "ah, the hell with it, I'm gonna sleep with my grandmother instead" after exhausting all other options. (damn! did I just say that?)
--Maybe I'm secretly hoping that Gavin will go back to the bottle and lose Dylan that way
BUT MOSTLY:
--I guess I tune in because I'm amazed at how much I liked Dylan at the start, only to be MUCH more drawn to Penny here at the end (at least at what I PERCEIVE to be the end of this show with the way NBC has been treating it). I mean, I can't believe how much I view Penny as the grounded, down-to-earth, realistic one to Dylan's overly optimistic and idealistic character...and that personality of Dylan's has actually been getting on my nerves the last 5 or so episodes. Imagine that: the thing that drew me to Dylan now turns me off and I'm drawn to Penny. What gives? How can that be? I watch every new show now in disbelief about how I'm turned off by Dylan's personality and it used to be her selling point.
I've definately switched ships and it's intrigued me enough to keep me coming back. Yeah, that must be it!
OK, I'm done now.

Okay you two, I'm close to peeing my pants in laughter over here.
I may be nuts, but I actually enjoy the show. It has that soap opera quality of 'what's going to happen next?'
I agree about Dylan...she's annoying, but I can't help tuning in. Is the show getting renewed I wonder?

Jake showing up at the dog shelter? What a no class thing to do to Penny. Gavin may be a jerk but I'm sure he would never do something like that to Dylan. Penny is better off without him.

This is true. In a few weeks there will only be Jake and Dylan left. They'll have to star in the morning show themselves, and in their off hours they can stand around not falling in love with one another.
