Ok, what are the grammys even about? Can someone please tell me? Because I just must not get it. I know, I know... many people hate on MTV because (aside from really having every right to because it has gone downhill) they don't play enough music except when everyone is asleep, they miss out on a lot of great artists, yadda yadda yadda. Well, okay, but I still do tune in to MTV and all the top radio stations of two large cities in the US, and they never talk about and never PLAY Norah Jones. MTV did show her, but rarely from what I saw. Still, to be impartial, that doesn't necessarily mean she's no good. Well, how can she be such a hit with the grammys and NO WHERE ELSE! If someone has to steal the show (which I LOATHE anyhow, because then it is so one-sided and BOOOOORING), let it at least be someone we all know well!

They play Norah on VH1. You just brought up a damn good point, Cashodeen. Okay, I get VH1, MTV, CMT, and BET on my tv. Okay, I never watch BET, so cross that off my list. VH1 and MTV only show 'real' music when everyone is asleep, just like you pointed out. I do not count countdown shows. You can't see all the video and can't hear some of it. I hate that I don't have another station that plays everything because some of these award shows, I have no idea who some of the nominees are.

I am really surprised Avril Lavigne didn't win anything. Whether you like her or hate her, you have to admit that Avril was everywhere.

The grammys were boring and tediously overlong last night...but I'm happy that Norah swept the awards. It's nice to see someone who actually has talent win. Eminem has won his share of awards before, so he didn't need to win last night. And Springsteen winning anything would've only been out of nostalgic efforts to make the 45th anniversary of the grammys someone in a perspective of looking back at the classics. I am so happy that Norah took the cake.

And all of you Avril fans out there...she really isn't all that great. Norah Jones is unique, and creates her own style of music. Avril just plays it straight and is like every other female artist out there. She didn't deserve anything, and that's why she didn't take anything. Norah Jones is not an ugly wh0re...I don't know what your guy's problem is here. Avril is not anything special...Norah is. Avril brings NOTHING unique to her music, and does her thing like everyone else. I'm not going to bash Avril fans, or Avril herself for anything, but the comitee was 100% correct in giving Norah what she deserved. And if Avril would like to win something...she should add something to her music, because the grammys even noticed that she ISN'T anywhere as unique as Norah Jones. I don't hate anyone, but I must say that you Avril fans are taking this far too seriously. If you don't want Norah fans to bash you, then stop bashing the Norah fans! Case dismissed, case closed, au revior!

I can't think of anyone good who was nominated. The Grammys suck, they always have so I'm not surprised about last night sucking. I'm not angry that Norah Jones won all those awards because honestly out of every who was nominated for some of the awards that Jones won, she was the most deserving.

Man, nelly and kelly's performance wasnt good.......which is a huge understatement....what the ****!??? I know the awards were made by 55 yr old!!!!!!! Norah wasnt even that excited! I like Norah Jones but she isnt all that!!!!!!!! I dont even like Avril that much but i think she should have won......and Nelly didnt win crap! Missy won and Erykah Badu won but they didnt show them! ugh i wanna shoot those grammy ppl....

This years Grammy's were boring!!! It only had some few highlights- Coldplay, The Clash Tribute, and No Doubt.
But what I like is that, this year the Grammy's were handed out by talent- not sales (as it seems.) Norah deserved Best New Artist, but DEFINATELY not Album, or Record of Year. Bruce, and Eminem were far more deserving.

Avril got what she deserved. "Avril Lavigne," I bet you're mad because Christina Aguilera once got Best New Artist, and Avril will never get it. :D

Speaking of performances, what did you all think of No Doubt's? I was actually ashamed to think I am a huge fan of Gwen. I've heard her pretty recently during an acustic performance, and I thought it was great, but yesterday her voice was terrible. To all you No Doubt and Gwen fans, I don't mean to hate on them(because I've been a big fan since Tragic Kingdom), but it just blleeeewwww I thought. And immediately after the performance they won a grammy, and I was like... uhh after that performance... I dunno...

I loved No Doubt during the mid-1990's, when the most heartbreaking song of all time was performed from them: "Don't Speak". But then they turned into a pop-rock group, and ruined my love for them. Listen to that song, and compare it to their recent tunes. You'll see a difference.

Underneath it all sounded fine to me, but Gwen always signs Hella Good live weird for some reason, and the cut out half of the song and kept repeating one part over and over. But I dont like either songs, so maybe thats why.

dont speak is a pop song. They were nominated for Best Rock Group, Best Rock Album, and best live pop song(Dont Speak) during the TK days. I never understood that...and Rock Steady is just one album.

I still like No Doubt, because they are able to transform themselves nicely without "sucking." If you think about it, Rock Steady is actually a great album. I'm not surprised why it's spunning off various hits, "Hey Baby," "Hella Good," "Underneath It All," "Running," "Don't Let Me Down," and "Platinum Blonde Life"-- people like change and variety.

Dont Let Me Down and Platinum Blonde Life aren't even singles from the album. So far Hey Baby, Hella Good, and UIA are the only hits, since running was only released 1 week ago.
