I Am Sam

Anyone else seen this movie and liked it? It only recieved one star, which was a surprise to me. I though the movie was pretty good. I may be biased because I'm a Beatles fan, but the movie would have been better if they had been able to use the original songs and not covers.

It was an okay film, but I thought the way they depicted retarded people wasn't so good. The guy was acting like he was 3 or 5 years old, not the capacity of a 7 year old, which I think is what he was supposed to be. I'm always amazed at how actors can make their voices sound like they are retarded. Sean Penn acted really well in that film, although the way the character acted I thought wasn't an accurate account of how retarded people are, in terms of their feelings and knowing whether or not they've done something wrong.

I thought this was an excellent movie! Sean Penn was great as Sam. One of the best i have seen.
