What happened to Catherine Lloyd Burns?

I recently bought the first season of Malcom in the Middle on DVD and I just realized that Catherine Lloyd Burns (Caroline Miller) was a full castmember. I haven't seen all the episodes of season one yet but why is she no longer on the show?

She played Malcolm's teacher, Caroline, in the first season.

Yeah. She didn't really have that big of a part and she wasn't even in all the episodes that season. I liked Caroline but I think it was better that they got rid of her after the first season then make her into the next Mr. Feeney.

She was a funny character, she was in it a lot in season one then she was in it once in season two when she was pregnant and then she was never seen again...
