I don't think it should be banned, so much as made a but more practical. Have more courses be a choice. Unless you're going to be a scientist of some type, but do you need chemistry? You need basic math, but do you need to go farther than that, unless again you'd have a type of job that would require it? What about history? English-No arguement there, everyone needs that. I'll relate this to Happy Days to keep it on-topic. Remember "Potsie quits school?" Yes I realize this was college, but I'm illustrating a point. All that studying the heart, and Potsie was going to use that knowledge...exactly when?
I took the usual stuff in High School. In real life?
Only Marketing, an elective and Spanish have come up.

Very articulate and...correctamundo! I am in college and although algebra hasn't been my favorite course, I only need one more math and I am all done. On the other hand, I can stock up on as many history, english, and political science courses as I can handle--they count for electives as well. My feeling is this: we all need a well rounded education. Heck--I even *like* this semester's science course and I am doing well. I am enjoying college much more that I did high school; that might give you something to look forward to. But don't do what I did--try to breeze through high school like it didn't matter. Because guess what? I wish that I'd been more involved! I am glad that I have a second chance now though.
