Hey everyone Ive just really enjoyed all of these new fan-fics that everyone has been writing. So I thought I would try to write a new one. This one is set around the first season of LITB. I hope everyone enjoys it. Ill be writing it in parts so I hope everyone will help by letting me know if it sucks or not and as always i welcome all constructive criticism.
The opening scene begins in Mrs. Rayburns office, she is having a meeting with Ms. Landers, about a visitor at the school that day.
Ms. Landers enters the room as Mrs. Rayburn is writing something.
Ms. Landers- You sent for me Mrs. Rayburn?
Mrs. Rayburn- Oh yes Ms. Landers please sit down. I have something to discuss with you.
Ms. Landers- Is there something wrong?
Mrs. Rayburn- Oh no nothing wrong, however you may have noticed in the news as of late that in Crystal Falls there has been some reports of children being abducted.
Ms. Landers- Oh yes, thats quite disturbing, Crystal Falls isnt too far from here.
Mrs. Rayburn- Exactly, thats what brings me to why I called you in. Tomorrow night we are going to have an officer come to the school to speak to the parents and children about this matter. I have been informing all of the teachers so that you could inform your students of the meeting. We are sending out letters to all of the parents as well just to make sure that everyone attends.
Ms. Landers- Its unfortunate that we have to take these measures but it is a good idea Mrs. Rayburn.
Mrs. Rayburn- Yes its unfortunate indeed but Im afraid quite necessary. There has never been a child abduction in Mayfield that I know of and I would like for the school to take every measure to see that it doesnt.
Ms. Landers- Thank you Mrs. Rayburn Ill tell my students this morning.
Mrs. Rayburn- Thank you.
The scene fades to Ms. Landers classroom. Where Judy is reciting multiplication tables.
Judy- eight times two equals sixteen and nine times two is eighteen.
Judy sits down with a assured look on her face as Beaver frowns at Whitey.
Ms. Landers- Very good Judy......Class before we all go to lunch there is something I want to discuss with you.
Judy- Ms. Landers Larry is whispering to Beaver.
Ms. Landers- Larry would you like to share with the entire class what couldnt wait until lunch.
Larry (stands)- I was just telling Beaver, that I hoped this didnt take long because Im starving.
The class snickers.
Ms. Landers- Thats enough class.....As I was saying tomorrow night we will be having a special visitor at the school. Officer Randall from the Mayfield police department will be coming to speak to you.
Whitey raises his hand
Ms. Landers- Yes Whitey.
Whitey- Gee, Ms. Landers were not that bad are we?
Ms. Landers(smiling) No Whitey he is coming to speak to the class about a rash of abductions that are going on around the area.
Beaver raises his hand
Ms. Landers- Yes Theodore.
Beaver- Whats a 'duction'
Ms. Landers- An abduction is when someone kidnapps someone else or steals them away from their loved ones.
Beaver- Gee, why would anyone do a thing like that?
Ms. Landers- Im afraid I dont know Theodore, but thats why Officer Randall is coming to the school to speak tomorrow night. So I want you all to remind your parents and not to be late ok class?
class(in unison) Yes. Ms Landers
The bell rings and the students go to lunch
end of scene one

Scene two fades into the living room where Ward is sitting in a chair opening the mail while June is sitting next to him reading the paper.
Ward- Whats for supper this evening June?
June- Leg of Lamb.
Ward- Oh, well then Beaver should be pleased. Speaking of Beaver where is he and Wally?
June- Wally is at baseball practice, and Beaver went straight upstairs after school. He was acting rather strange too.
Ward- Oh June you musnt worry Boys that age have so many things on their minds.
June(smiling) I suppose so.
Ward (reading) Well heres a letter from Beavers principal.
June- Beaver isnt in some sort of trouble is he?
Ward- No,...It seems that they are having an open meeting for parents teachers and students tomorrow night at Grant Avenue School.
June- What about?
Ward(smiling)- i was just getting to that.......There having a police officer come to the school to speak to parents and students about the dangers of kidnapping.
June- Kidnapping!
Ward- There concerned about the recent abductions in Crystal Falls and they want to try and prevent it from happening to one of our youngsters here in Mayfield.
June- Oh Ward! You dont think our boys are in any danger do you? Thats it Im going to start driving the boys to school every day.
Ward- Now June! I dont think our boys are in any danger they know that they shouldnt talk to strangers, and besides there hasnt been anything like that ever in Mayfield. The school is just trying to take precautionary methods.
June- Well I suppose your right dear.
Ward- Sure, but it is good to see that our school system is this concerned about our children. I remember when i was a boy there wasnt any need for any of this.
June- I hope that there wont be any need for this.

The scene fades to the Cleavers dining room where the family is having supper.
June- Beaver How is your Lamb?
Beaver(with mouth full) Oh its real neat mom.
Ward looks at June and smiles
Ward- Beaver? Were you supposed to tell me anything today?
Beaver- Gee, dad I thought I was supposed to tell mom when supper is good?
Ward(frustrated) No Beaver, I meant the meeting that we are supposed to attend at your school tommorrow night?
Beaver- Oh yeah, theres a man coming from the police department to talk about 'ductions'
Wally- Beaver, I think you mean abductions.
Ward- Thats right Wally....Beaver how come you havent told us about this yet?
Beaver- I guess I forgots it.
Ward- You forgot it
Beaver- Yeah.
June- Lucky for us your principal sent us a letter about it or we might have missed it.
Wally- Mom, Dad Beaver doesnt mean to be forgetful he's just a kid.
Ward(smiles at June) Yes Wally we forgot hes not as responsible as you are.
Wally wipes his nose nervously.
June- Well Beaver Ill have your suit pressed so you will look nice.
Beaver- yes mom.
Ward- Wally? Is your school going to have the same meeting later?
Wally- I dont think so, I guess they figure were to smart to be picked up by some bad guy.
Beaver- Dad why would someone want to steal a kid?
Ward- Well son, there are a lot of bad people in the world who hurt children and other people for a lot of reasons.
Beaver- But Gee Dad. Why?
Ward- Im afraid I dont know son, but thats why your mother and I have always told you not to get too friendly with strangers because you never know their intentions.
Beaver looks bewildered
June- Beaver do you understand what your father is trying to say?
Beaver- I guess so, but I dont understand what a grown up would want with a kid thats not even his.
Ward- Well Beaver unfortunately there are people out there who are willing to still children away from their families, and thats why your school is having this meeting , they want to be sure that you children are aware of the dangers of kidnappers.
Beaver- Well I guess its pretty neat that everyone cares about us so much......and maybe the police officer will let me try on his handcuffs.
Ward smiles
June- Beaver! I dont think so.
End of scene two.

Scene three fades to the Grant Avenue school where Officer Bradley of the Mayfield Police department is finishing up his speech on what do do about strangers.
Officer Bradley- Ok, children do we all know the basic rule of thumb when it comes to avoiding kidnappers?
Children(in unison) Never talk to strangers.
Officer Bradley- Thats right children, we should never talk to strangers because we do not know what their intentions are.
Ill now answer any questions from parents and children.
Mrs. Rayburn- Officer Bradley, what should the children do if they suspect a stranger?
Officer Bradley- Thats a very good question Mrs. Rayburn. If you suspect someone its best that you tell a grown up or call the police department so that we can investigate the matter.
A concerned mother stands and is recognised
Officer Bradley- Yes Ma'am?
concerned mother- I have heard that some kidnappers will try to lure kids with gifts and candy is this so?
Officer Bradley- Yes, and thank you for bringing this up. Kidnappers often appear friendly and giving at first but that is how they set their traps, so we should never accept anything from a stranger, its best to ignore them and walk away. Also never get into a vehicle with a stranger you are just asking for trouble.
a pause
Officer Bradley- I have time for one more question before I must get back to the station.
Whitey Whitney raises his hand
Officer Bradley- Yes son.
Whitey- What about the lady at the bank officer?
Officer Bradley- Im afraid I dont know what you mean?
Whitey- Well everytime we go to the bank the lady gives me a sucker, does this mean I shouldnt take it?
Officer Bradley( smiling) no son I think its still safe to take suckers from the bank.
Everyone in the crowd enjoys a laugh.
Mrs. Rayburn stands up at the podium.
Mrs. Rayburn- I would like to thank all of the parents and children for coming out this evening. Most of all I would like to thank Officer Bradley for the valuable information he has passed on to us. We are very grateful arent we children.
Children( in unison) Yes Mrs. Rayburn.
The scene dissolves to the hall outside of the auditorium where parents and children are gathered around.
June- Beaver, I certainly hope you learned something from all of this.
Beaver- Dad what happens to kids that dont pay attention and do get kidnapped.
Ward- (embracing Beaver) Now dont you worry son, You just do as the officer says and you shouldnt ever have to worry about something like that.
Beaver- Sure dad.
End of scene three.

Scene four begins as Larry and Beaver are walking home from school the next day.
Larry- Boy Beaver that was a real dirty trick for Ms. Landers to give us a pop-quiz on our homework assignment from last night wasnt it.
Beaver- I dont know I made a 90, what did you make?
Larry- I made a fifty-five and I think it was a real dirty trick, she would give a pop-quiz when I didnt do my homework assignment.
Beaver- I guess thats what our parents mean when they say we can never really get away with not doing our homework.
Larry nods in agreement.
A big silver car approaches along side the boys and a man rolls down the window and addresses the boys.
Stranger- Hey fellas
The boys just continue walking
Stranger- Hey fellas could I speak with you for just a moment?
Beaver- No, sir
Larry(nervously)- Yea No sir we cant
Stranger- Well why cant you?
Beaver- On account of we arent supposed to talk to strangers.
Stranger- Oh!, Well then how's about I introduce myself my name is Mr. Jenkins im new in town. I just moved into the apartments over on Spruce street.
Larry- Hey Beav thats where Whitey lives.
Stranger- Oh yes I met the little fellow this morning a charming little guy.
Beaver- Well, he's our pal but I dont know about how charming he is.
Stranger- Well now fellas now that you know who I am and where I live, would you mind if I asked you a question.
Larry- Sure
Beaver(interrupting Larry)- No sir like I said we shouldnt be talking to you.
Larry- Oh come on Beav, its ok he knows Whitey besides we cant get into any trouble just answering a question.
Beaver(reluctantly) Well, I guess so.
Stranger- Thanks. My question is I was wondering if you two would know anyone who collects baseball cards and would be willing to buy some?
Larry(looking at Beaver in delight)-Gee, Mr. Jenkins Beaver and me collect them, How many you got?
Larry and Beaver walk over closer to the car.
Stranger- Oh Ive got several, as a matter of fact I have a few here
The stranger reaches behind him and pulls out a handful of cards
Stranger- Lets see, Stan Musial, Joe Dimaggio, Yogi Berra, Lou Gehrig.
Beaver- Boy oh boy, those are some neat cards, Ive got 55 cents could that buy some?
Larry- Ive got 25 cents maybe we could pool it together and buy some.
Stranger- Oh sorry fellas but I only sell em by the box, and I charge three dollars per box, but you get 150 per box.
Larry- Gee mister we dont have three dollars
Beaver- Well, I might could borrow the money from my father.
Larry- Sure and I think my mom would give me an advance on my allowance.
Stranger- Well, I tell you what you two get three dollars and Ill meet you tomorrow over by Metzgers field and Ill have the boxes of cards.
Beaver- Ok thanks
Larry- yea thanks Mr. Jenkins
Stranger- Sure thing guys, now dont forget tomorrow over my Metzgers field Ill see you after school.
The stranger drives off in his car
Larry- Boy that was real neat of him wasnt it.
Beaver- Sure it was, now I gotta try and get three dollars outta dad.
Larry- Yea, I know what you mean, everytime I ask my mom for money she gets a nervous headache.

Scene five begins in Wards den where he is helping Wally with his Algebra.
Ward- Wally do you think you have it now?
Wally- I guess so, but I sure dont see how this is gonna help me in life.
Ward- Wally, youll find a lot of things from school are gonna be useful in life.
Wally- Youre right I guess, but I'll believe it when I see it.
Theres a knock on the door
Ward- Come in!
Beaver opens the door and stands there
Ward- Oh Beaver, what can I do for you son?
Beaver- Dad are you in a good or bad mood?
Ward(smiling)- Well lets see Fred Rutherford called in sick this morning so Im in a pretty overall good mood today. What is it son?
Beaver(blurting it out)- Can I borrow three dollars
Ward(stringing Beaver along)- Well lets see what would this loan be for?
Beaver- Theres this man that moved in next to Whitey, and he's got baseball cards for sale, only hes not selling them one at a time, hes selling them by the box and they are three dollars a box and you get 150 cards and could I have the money dad the cards are real neat?
Wally- Boy Beaver youre always getting involved in some kind of a gip.
Ward- Wally it seems to me that a few of your business ventures turned into gips.
Wally doesnt respond but rubs his nose nervously.
Beaver- Does that mean I can have the money dad?
Ward- Yes, son Ill give you the money but youll have to pay it back out of your allowance until its paid for.
Beaver- Gee thanks dad your the neatest!
Beaver is so elated he runs out of the room
Wally- Boy, maybe one day that Beaver will grow up.
Ward- Yes I imagine it will be quite sometime before Beaver has the worldly knowledge you have aquired.
The scene dissolves to Beavers school after class in the hallway where Beaver, Larry and Whitey are having a discussion.
Beaver- Hey Larry did your mom give you the money?
Larry- Yea, she hollered a while but she finally gave in and gave me the money.
Beaver- Dad gave me the money too.
Larry- Gee Whitey it sure would be neat if you had three dollars so's you could get a box of baseball cards.
Whitey- Yeah that would be neat allright, but my mom doesnt holler she hits.
Beaver- Hey Whitey do you know the man thats selling us the cards, Mr Jenkins, he said he lives in the same builking as you?
Whitey- Oh yeah, I saw him the other day, he didnt seem like the kind of guy who sold baseball cards.
Larry- Well he does and they are real neat, and he has lots of them, do you wanna come over to Metzgers field with us after school and see if he'll hold you a box?
Whitey- No I better not I've been late for supper two times this week and I dont think I better today.
Larry and Beaver nods in agreement and the scene fades out.

Scene six begins in The Cleaver kitchen where June is peeling potatoes and Ward enters.
June(surprised) Oh, Ward I wasnt expecting you in just yet.
Ward- I wasnt expecting to get here this early, but this makes two days in a row Fred has called in sick and somehow I seem to get my work done so much quicker without the annoyance of Fred Rutherford.
June smiles and laughs a bit and continues peeling her potatoes.
Ward- Where are the boys shouldnt they be home by now?
June- Wally is upstairs studying for his algebra test and Beaver hasnt gotten home yet, he said something this morning about you giving him permission to buy some baseball cards from Mr. Jenkins that moved in those apartments on Elm....Ward I saw him in the market the other day, and he's an older gentleman he didnt seem like the type that would be trying to make a side living selling baseball cards.
Ward- Just because the man is old, doesnt mean he cant have childish hobbies does it?
June- I dont suppose so, but this man was barely able to get around, I dont want the Beaver annoying him.
Ward- Oh come now June, the old man probably enjoys the company from the boys.
June(smiles) I guess your right Ward.
The scene dissolves to Metzgers field where Beaver and Larry are awaiting the arrival of Mr. Jenkins.
Larry- Gee Beaver, we been waiting here a while you dont think he's not gonna show do you?
Beaver- I dont think he'll not come, besides who would pass up a chance to make six whole dollars?
Larry nods in agreement and just then Mr. Jenkins pulls up next to the field and waves at the boys.
Mr. Jenkins(yelling to the boys)- Hey fellas over here!
The boys make their way over to the vehicle.
Mr. Jenkins- Well boys do you have the money?
Beaver- We sure do!
Larry- Yea, the whole six dollars
Mr. Jenkins- Well thats fine let me get you your cards.
Mr. Jenkins reaches into the back of his vehicle and looks around.
Beaver(in anticipation)- You do have the cards dont you?
Mr. Jenkins- Yes, i have the cards but it seems Ive left them at the apartment. If you want you guys can ride with me over to the apartment and get them.
Beaver- Boy, I dont know Im not supposed to ride in cars with people I dont know.
Larry- Yeah.
Mr. Jenkins- Well fellas you cant walk all the way to Elm street this evening it will be dark soon, and you would be late for supper. I wont have the cards tomorrow they are selling too good.
Larry- Gee Beaver he's right its almost dark and I dont wanna be late for supper besides I really want those cards dont you?
Beaver- Sure I want them but...
Mr. Jenkins(impatiently) Do you want them or not fellas, times a wastin!
Larry- Come on Beaver1
Beaver(reluctantly) Ok, but we cant stay long.
Mr. Jenkins- sure thing.
The boys walk over to the car and start to get into the back seat. Just then two police cars pull up and block the vehicle, three police men get out and one of them is officer Bradley.
Officer Bradley- Hold on fellas dont get into that car!
Beaver- Oh hi officer Bradley we were just gonna buy some baseball cards off of Mr. Jenkins here.
Officer Bradley- Boys thats not Mr. Jenkins, you fellas come along with me.
stranger- Wait a minute I havent done anything!
The other two officers get the stranger out of the car and read him his rights and handcuff him.
Larry- Whats goin on officer Bradley?
Officer Bradley- Come along with me Ill need to ask you fellas some questions and I'll explain when we get to the station.

The conclusion starts in the Mayfield police department. Beaver is sitting across from Officer Bradley's desk.
Beaver- Boy oh boy Officer Bradley I cant believe Larry and me was so dumb, I knew from the start I shouldnt have talked to him.
Officer Bradley- Well Theodore thats how these type of people are they explore every opportunity to prey on children, this man just happened to be very crafty.
Beaver- What do you think would have happened to Larry and me?
Officer Bradley- Lets just be glad that nothing happened Theodore, you and Larry were quite lucky, some children werent.
Beaver- They didnt get killed did they?
Officer Bradley- Unfortunately not but they have spent quite some time away from their families. If the confession we got from him is correct we should be able to locate the other children in a couple of days.
Beaver- What did he do with them?
Officer Bradley- He sold them to other families.
Theres a knock on the door and another officer enters.
Officer- The boys parents are here Officer Bradley.
Officer Bradley- Oh please send them in.
Ward and June enter the room and June runs to Beaver and hugs him its obvious she has been crying.
June- Oh Beaver Im so glad you are allright!
Ward- Thank you so much officer Bradley.
Officer Bradley- The boys were quite lucky we were investigating this man, and apprehended him. When he invited the boys into his car it gave us the clue we needed.
Ward- Beaver, didnt you know you werent supposed to talk to strangers?
Beaver- Gee dad we thought he was Mr. Jenkins.
June- Wheres Larry?
Officer Bradley- Mr. and Mrs. Mondello just left a minute ago.
Ward- So the man wasnt Mr. Jenkins?
Officer Bradley- No, Mr. Cleaver he wasnt. He had obviously been doing his homework he had found out that an older gentleman named Jenkins had moved in over on Elm, he knew that Mr. Jenkins was old and not able to get out much, so he was trying to use his identity to be clever in his abduction.
June- Oh my! Where is he now?
Officer Bradley- Dont worry maam he is in custody and from the looks of things he will be spending quite a long time in prison. He was abducting children and selling them to families who didnt have children.
June(horrified)- Oh Im so glad you caught him.
Officer Bradley- Yes, and its very fortunate we caught him when we did or Theodore and Larry would have been abducted and sold most likely.
June hugs Beaver and sobs.
Ward- Well we thank you very much Officer Bradley.
Officer Bradley(addressing Beaver)- Now you remember what I told you Theodore.
Beaver- You bet officer, no matter what Im never talking to a stranger again unless my parents know him and Ive seen him with them.
The scene fades to the boys bedroom where Wally is talking to Beaver.
Wally- Boy! Beaver you were really lucky!
Beaver(crying) I know.
Wally- Hey Beav, dont cry its ok now.
Beaver- I know but what if the police hadnt have been there I might have been sold.
Wally- Yea.
Ward and June enter the room and notice Beaver crying
Ward- We were just coming up to check on you two, Beaver are you allright.
June hugs Beaver
Beaver- Im sorry mom, dad i really let you down.
Ward- Beaver, were just glad that nothing happened. You had know way of knowing that that man was lying so elaborately.
June- Now you know how to handle a situation like this if it ever happens again.
Beaver- I sure do! If a stranger ever talks to me again Im just gonna keep on walkin no matter what. I never would have thought baseball cards would get me in such a mess
Ward and June both smile and Wally smiles and shakes his head Beaver hugs Ward and June and the scene fades out.
