What kind of car did Ward drive?

I am curious to the year, make and model.
Did Ward drive the same car throughout?

What about Eddie's, Wally's?

I have seen every episode 50x, but I don't know anything about cars. I also can't find anything about it on the internet so any sites would be great.

I Think Ward Allways Drove Chryslers Dodges and plymoth's Around The First 10-25 Eps. He Drove A 1956 Ford, I Know Wally Drove About A 1952 Chevrolet Deluxe Convertable. Lumpy Drove A Buick Coupe From About 1937-1939, And I Don't Remember Eddie's Car. ;) :)BeAvEr FaN:)

You might regret asking this question, since I am a Classic car nut and can talk about this subject for hours.

Ward Drove: a 1957 Ford Fairlane in season 1 and Season 2.

In season 3 he drove a 1959 Plymouth Belvedere.

In season 4 & 5 he drove a 1961 Plymouth Fury.

In season 6 he drove a 1962 Plymouth Fury, although I might be wrong on that one, since they never showed it that much for me to tell.

Wally's Car looks to be a 1951 Chevy Convertible.


I'm not sure about Lumpy's & Eddie's Cars, since my car interests are mainly late 1950's & early 60's cars.


Fred Rutherford's cars changed frequently when they were shown in episodes, but he drove a 1959 Plymouth Fury Convertible in the episode "Beaver & Violet" when they all had a picnic up at the lake and Violet had to sit on Beaver's lap riding through the middle of town.

Mrs. Lander fiance drove a 1961 Dodge Dart Pheonix Convertible in the episode that was shown the other day.

I noticed the Chrysler corporation must have not minded for other makes of cars to show up on the show occasionaly. Like Wally's car being Chevrolet, and a Chevy Corvette showed up on an episode where Wally was brought home with by one of the guy's in the school club the Barrons.

Starting with Season 3, most of the cars were all Chrysler/Dodge/Plymouth, since they must of sponsored the show from season 3 through 6. Back then each show had a car sponsor. All the people on Andy Griffith drove Fords and all the people on My Three Sons drove Chevrolet in season's 1-4, then Pontiac became the sponsor.

I'm glad you both joined us. We don't have many fights on the Beaver board, but I'm afraid we lose many lurkers that could be members if they see so many fights. Lumpy Drove a 1940 Ford convertable and Eddie owned a 1939 Oldsmobile. Corvetteguy is correct about Ward's cars. :) ;)

First of all...Welcome new members! :D

And second...HOLY FREAKIN COW!!! I love cars, but know nothing about them. I am really impressed about how you car guys paid such close attention, and actually knew what kind they were. I couldn't identify a classic car to save my life! The only kind I can identify (and this does not identify with the show at all) is a Mustang. I have wanted one since I was 8 and my cousin got a '66 RED MUSTANG CONVERTIBLE for her 16th birthday. I have been in love with them ever since. :D

Thanks For The Welcome BeaversBiggestFan. I like the classic Mustangs too. Hopefully one day you will own one. Besides liking classic car's, I like anything to do with the late 50's early 60's, like classic TV, music etc. It seemed like a great time then. At least the Cleavers made it seem that way.

Corvetteguy have you seen the sites below? Wonderful, all about the fifties. The message board is truly a great read. Everyones memories are so wonderul. I was born in '72, was an 80's teen, but grew up on LITB and lived in a very 50's structure styled house in terms of attitude - it was underheard of not to eat at the dinner table - that kind of thing. It was nice to reminisce. Also gave me great insight to why my dad is the way he is :P

lliissaad thanks for the links. I remember visiting those sites a long time ago. I grew up in a family the same way you described. I was born in 78 and was a pre-teen in the 80's, but I always liked 50's things. I remember back then when they ran the show on TBS along with the New Leave It To Beaver. I remember in those day's a lot of the great 50's & 60's shows and movies were being re-ran on various networks. I remember watching Ozzie & Harriet, Gidget, My Three Sons (B&W shows), Car 54 , Mr. Ed, The Mickey Mouse Club with Annette Funicello ( I had a thing for Annette) etc etc. I also noticed that around the late 80's a lot of movies were being made about the 50's & 60's like La Bamba, Shag, Peggy Sue Got Married etc etc. I collect anything from the late 50's & 60's like old magazines, magazine ad's, die cast cars, 50's & 60's replica's etc. I even wear ( they still make them) the old converse chuck taylor canvas sneakers they wore back then. I hope that doesn't sound too strange....LOL
