I think that some sitcoms that are "cult classics" would sell better than the over rerun, high rated sitcoms on DVD. Fans of the cult favorite are sure to buy the dvd sets. Take "Mary Tyler Moore". It was a good show, but has been on Nick at Nite and currently on TV Land for years. Why should anyone buy a show, when they can just tape it off of TV? This post mostly comes from me wanting all of my favorite shows (which have cult followings) on DVD. The list is of shows I want on DVD, but doubt will ever come.

-NewsRadio (1995-99 / 97 episodes)
-Wings (1990-97 / 172 episodes)
-Perfect Strangers (1986-93 / 150 episodes)
-Andy Richter Controls the Universe (2002- )
-Boy Meets World (1993-2000 / 158 episodes)
-Charles in Charge (1984-1985,1987-1990 / 126 episodes)
-Chico and the Man (1974-1978 / 88 episodes)
-Hey Dude (1989-91 / 65 episodes)
-Ellen (1994-98 / 109 episodes)

Like every movie comes out on VHS and DVD, I think every TV series should be released. Because EVERY show has it's fans.

I totally agree! If only they'd give all the new over-run shows a break and try out some older and rarer shows that don't air on TV much. Here's my list.

Mary Hartman, Mary Hartman/Forever Fernwood
Valerie/The Hogan Family
SCTV
Too Close For Comfort
One Day at a Time
Alice
Angie
Perfect Strangers
Just The Ten of Us
Any of the Sid & Marty Kroft shows
Baby Talk
Dinosaurs
Webster
The list goes on and on, lol

There are some "cult Classics" on DVD already.

The entire run of the Prisoner is on DVD.

Get A Life has two DVDs out from Rhino (so far).

Family Guy is out in April.

Sports Night has a season on DVD.

I'm surprise some people like that show. But as Sitcomwriter said almost all of FOXs shows go to DVD. Look at Futurama, it got bad ratings so FOX canceled it and now it's on it's way to DVD.

I LOVE ELLEN!!!!!!!! It's unfair what ABC did to her. This show belongs on DVD or back on TV. Either way I'm happy just to see Ellen again.

"Head of the Class"?. Anybody mention that one yet? I've seen a lot of people pleading desperately to have it released. I nearly grew up on that show, so I'm with them!

Boy this thread is old, lol. I hope I'm not the reason "The Mary Tyler Moore Show" took so long for it's second season to be released, lol.

I remember, this was at a time when shows were just coming, but not enough shows. I was getting angry because my favorites were still not being released. And I didn't have any faith that any of these shows would ever come out. I'm happy that "NewsRadio" and "Ellen" are complete, while "Perfect Strangers", "Boy Meets World" and "Charles In Charge" have all started coming out. And "Wings" is one season away from being complete. Sadly, still no sign of "Andy Richter Controls the Universe", "Chico and the Man" or "Hey Dude."
