What do you think will happen? I'm just wondering.

There will most likely be another season as the ratings are quite nice. I think that another character will come in for some reason, possibly a younger character to attract younger viewers.

That's an interesting thought. Are you thinking it will be a kid or just a young adult that's in their 20's? It could also be a teenager(that would be a bit odd though).

I'm thinking someone in their early or mid-20's...probably a nice looking female who comes in-and-out through scenes, and has no real effect on the show, rather than to attract some younger audiences.

I'm not sure younger audiences would watch if a character just walked in and out of scenes. They would probably want to see more of the character.

Well...if you think about it, young additions to casts can sometimes help the show. During Nick Colassanto's last year at Cheers, the ratings were quite good...but when he passed on, and Mr. Harrelson came in, the ratings soared. But I may take that back. Cheers was between The Cosby Show and Family Ties. Cheers was the only adult show, and that could've been their solution of getting viewers of Cosby Show and Family Ties to stay tuned for Cheers.

I think adding a permanent character would be good if the character was interesting and funny. What do you think?

I think (and mind you this is JUST my Opinion so PLEASE no flaming me) but I think if Terry Were willing to come back They'd bring Reggie back Could you imagine HOW good the show would be if Chris and Becker were together and Reggie came back all still in love with him I mean MAJOR Love triangle :) THAT all depends on whether or not Terry would be willing to come back though

If Reggie came back, I would put The Simpsons on the backburner and watch Becker first.
Of course they could just change the timeslot.
But you know that Reggie is not coming back.
The way the show's producers unceremoniously dumped Terry Farrell, I doubt she would want to or they be willing to swallow their pride and ask.
I can't wait for syndication to get my old Becker back.
It's kinda dead in my eyes right now.

I can see the triangle being funny (without the kids), since they started one last season, but I really liked it best when he and Reggie just had the friendly animosity between them. I'd love it if she came back and it was like that again. (I guess I'm not much of a romantic.)
It would also be good if she came back with a psychology practice. Then Chris could keep managing the diner. It could lend itself to lots of side plots about their individual lives that way too. Hey, maybe Reggie could start dating Bob. He was always in love with her, and he's becoming more human lately too, hee hee.

I think they should add Tom Selleck, make it where hes Chris's exboyfriend, and Chris and Becker not knowing it , but it being Beckers cusion, that would be hilarious, I just can see the three of them together I guess because of Three Men and a Baby, it would be funny, and it would help the ratings and the plot.

I'm just bumping this back up since it's the end of the season now. Does anyone have any new predictions about what will happen next season(if there is one)? I sort of think that it still has a 50% chance of being renewed. Just my opinion though.

I hope it gets renewed. While I haven't enjoyed this past season as much (I still miss Reggie terribly) I still think Becker is a hell of a lot better than about 95% of the crap that's on TV nowadays.

I'm almost positive (in my opinion) that Becker will be back.
I think also that if it were to be cancelled, it is one of those shows that would be picked up by another network.
I mean CBS did almost everything they could to almost destroy Becker's ratings and it still performed well considering.
Also, with NBC losing some of its grip with Friends departure on the horizon (and Frasier as well), CBS has a solid commodity that can go against most any of the more recent shows and the tired old hanger-ons.
Reggie won't be coming back and I really have no idea where the show is going. Though Becker is in love with Chris (which we all know already, no news here), her declaration of love for Becker was just used as a joke. So now are we going to have an entire season of Becker wooing Chris to get her to change her mind?
Just don't turn Becker into a different character acting like a fool to get Chris like they did with Sam on Cheers when Rebecca came.

I think it has a good 50(just like Sara said)% chance to be renewed, I think it will be back, this is what I found just now surfing on the internet:
From The Morning Call -- April 9, 2003
It's pilot time and current TV shows face the ax
By Stephen Battaglio
KRT News Service
NEW YORK | -- Some of your favorite prime-time shows are about to go on the endangered species list.
It's pilot season in Hollywood, when network executives are working on new series for next season — some of which will replace those that haven't been cutting it in the ratings.
Fewer shows are on the chopping block this year because reality programs have already replaced many of the weak links on the network schedules.
But there are still series at every network that will have their producers and actors waiting nervously by the phone when fall schedules are announced early next month.
The midseason comedy ''My Big Fat Greek Life'' hasn't given CBS much to celebrate on at 8 p.m. Sunday. Nor has its companion on the night, the aging Ted Danson comedy ''Becker.'' Both could be gone.
CBS executives had hoped their first-season Monday sitcom ''Still Standing'' would hold on to more of its ''Everybody Loves Raymond'' audience lead-in, but its return seems likely nevertheless.
Personally, I think it did ok the first half of the season, and then it did fabulous the last half(Jan. 5 - April 20), CBS should be happy that Becker can stand on its own two feet, and it has a weekly average of almost 10 million viewers. Oh, and by the way any fans of "Every Body Loves Raymond" out there? Well I have some sad news I heard on E! news live yesterday that Ray Romano said that next season will be his last, and I quote "Its better to get out when its going good, and not to early or too late". If CBS chooses to cancell Becker, it will backfire later on in their future.

This would be the best move for CBS- move Becker back to Monday, either before or after Raymond.
That way when Raymond goes there will be some sort of stronghold with King of Queens and Becker to carry part of the night.
If they never moved Becker the ratings would have been stronger than that of Still Standing and would have held a big continuity factor- one they now stand to lose.

Your exactly right.
if Becker hadn't been moved(which still blows my mind as to why they moved it I will never know) CBS would be being first in the ratings every week like it used to. And they wouldn't be griping about how their network is loosing much of their core audience,blah-blah-blah. If Becker is back, it will be a test for the show more than this season, if it does great, it will definatly be back in ELR's old spot. I think it will definatly do very well next season.
