My deepest sympathy goes out to the family of Merlin Santana and the cast of "The Steve Harvey Show". Once again another senseless death for a promising young actor. My prayers are with you during this time. I remember watching him as "Stanley" on The Cosby Show and then the ever charismatic Romeo on "The Steve Harvey Show".

Although I never watch that show, My hubby does and he is sadden by this young man's death. My condolences to his family and friends also. :(

Merlin Santana, who was nominated for NAACP Image and ALMA Awards for his recurring role as Romeo Santana on "The Steve Harvey Show" was killed Saturday (Nov. 9) in Los Angeles while sitting in a parked car.

The crime took place around 2:30 a.m. when at least one person approached the car and fired at Santana, who was in the passenger seat. The driver of the car escaped and contacted police. Santana was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police say that they are currently investigating, but don't have a motive yet, nor do they know if Santana was specifically targeted or a random victim, according to the AP.

Born in New York, Santana first became known to audiences as the love-struck Stanley, devoted to "The Cosby Show's" youngest daughter, Rudy Huxtable.

He also appeared on "Major Dad," "Moesha" and "Sister, Sister" as well as last year's Eddie Murphy movie "Showtime."

My mother loved Romeo & when i told her he was killed this morning she was shocked. I'm so sick & tired of seeing young brothers getting killed like this. I wanna hear some more news on why this happened. I loved the Steve Harvey Show. Him & Bullethead were so funny. RIP Merlin Santana.

LOS ANGELES (Zap2it.com) - Police have arrested a woman in connection with the
murder of actor Merlin Santana, who was shot and killed early Saturday.

Santana, 26, was shot about 2:45 a.m. Saturday (Nov. 9) while sitting in a car in
South Central Los Angeles, police say. It's unclear whether he was targeted or a
random victim.

Police took the woman into custody Monday morning (Nov. 11). Her name wasn't
released.

"The investigation is ongoing, and no further comment will be given at this time,"
LAPD Lt. Horace Frank told TV station KNBC.

Santana, a native New Yorker, played Romeo Santana on The WB's "Steve Harvey
Show" and also appeared on "Moesha" and "The Cosby Show," among other
roles. His "Steve Harvey" role earned him nominations for the NAACP Image Awards
in each of the past two years. He was also a nominee for the ALMA Awards, given to
Latinos working in the entertainment industry, in 1998 and '99.

No not Bud. This was a guy from the later seasons, he guest starred in 2-3 episodes in 1991.

No bud was kenny, Stanely was Rudy Huxtable only boyfriend on the Cosby Show. I think Stanely didn't appear until the 1990's

The woman who killed Merlin while he was sitting in a car with his friend was his ex girlfriend. She was obviously mad at him for something he did to her or she might've just been mad at him for breaking up with her. U got some crazy females out here.

They're really keeping this a secret. If it was someone better known like Snoop Dog or P Diddy we would all be hearing every detail of what happens to them.
