From the Hollywood Reporter:

Cast-outs in 'Miami'
Nov. 07, 2002

A talent shakeup is in the works for Miami's lowest-rated morning
show "Good Morning, Miami," which is the setting for NBC's rookie
Thursday comedy of the same name. Sources said Tessie Santiago, who
plays a self-centered co-host on the show, and Brooke Dillman, who
plays weathercaster-nun Sister Brenda, will be leaving the Warner
Bros. TV series from David Kohan and Max Mutchnick. It is not clear
what new characters will be worked into to the show, but sources said
there are plans to add an additional Latino actor to the cast.

Since Tessie Santiago's Lucia and Brooke Dillman's Brenda are my two
favorite characters, respectively, I guess I'll be tuning out when
they check out of GMM.

Not a good morning at all.

;; One article I read said they were fired because they want to center more around the whole 'Jake x Dylan' thing. I'm really mad, I wanted to see Stewie, Lucia's doggie, again!

And from TV guide.com:

In other Miami-related casting news, what a thrill to learn that NBC's insipid Good Morning Miami is going to dump the "weather nun" forecaster played by Brooke Dillman, as well as the stereotypical Latino co-anchor played by Tessie Santiago. The nun was hands-down the season's most offensive character on any series — grotesquely stupid, never funny. I'm not sure anything will help this tiresome sitcom, but this is a good start. (And while Santiago was also a pain, the show will need to reflect Miami's Latino population somehow. As it is, it's embarrassingly white-bread.)

I am sooo happy that they are dumping the weather nun...ugh; she was just terribly annoying, and has nothing funny to say. I wanted to press the mute buttom every time she opened her trap. However...I'm disappointed that they are getting rid of the latin character. She had some great one-liners. I'm disappointed and thrilled at the same time.

Personally they were the worst part of the show.Luchia was hard to understand and Sister Brenda was annoying even though I liked Brooke Dillman's voice.

Pardon my ignorance (I have never seen this show once  ) but, tonight I watched Suzanne Pleshette's Intimate Portrait on Lifetime, and at the end it said she "went back to the same CBS soundstage after 30 years" or something, to shoot this show. Now, was there a network change or something, or...???
