What are some of the "firsts" that Leave it to Beaver gave to the world? I know it was the first tv show to be showed at the point of view of a child. But what other firsts did the show have??
Toodles!

I think it was also the first show in that time period to deal with serious subjects such as divorce, alcoholism and teen drinking.
It was the first to show a toilet on tv! I find it hilarious that showing a toilet was considered bad! But it was...The first ep was actally "Captain Jack" where the boys keep an aligator in the toilet tank, but the station wouldn't allow a potty to be seen on tv, so the ep was shelved for a week and the first episode shown was "Beaver Gets Spelled." "Captain Jack" was shown the following week after they decided that showing a toilet wouldn't be so bad, as long as they didn't show the rest of the bathroom! (I got this from Jerry Mathers' Bio, in case anyone was wondering)

Yes, and in that episode they only could show the toilet tank, not the bowl. If you look in all the other bathroom scenes throughout the series though, they never show a toilet in the bathroom any other time.
