On Halloween beginning at 1pm, central TNN will air a Friday the 13th marathon featuring parts 2-7. What happened to 1 I wonder?

Also on Saturday American Movie Classics wil air Halloween 2-5 as well as the new one hour Backstory on the making of the first film at 10am, central. These movies as well as the documentary will be repeated numerous times next week. The first Halloween will air on F/X October 27 at 5pm, central.

Halloween #1, 2, 4, and 5 were the only good Halloweens in my opinion. #3 was boring and lame, #6 was just a bunch of teens running around like mice from him. #7 [H20] was OK because of Jamie, but the supporting cast couldn't act, and the newest Halloween was just plain old DUMB!

The only watchable Friday The 13th was the one in Manhattan...the others were unintentionally funny and stupid.

I don't think TNN is showing Friday the 13th Part 1 because Jason really wasn't in that movie. As for Halloween, 1 and 2 are the only watchable movies. The rest of the sequels were a joke and will never live up to the original.

Yeah...F13 Part 1 was basically Jason's mother killing everyone.

I've seen the majority of them. The only films I haven't seen are Halloween: Resurrection and Jason X.

I noticed that the original Halloween is # 4 on your list. Why?!? That was the best one. IMO I know it's your opinion, but I'm just curious.

It's not that I didn't like it...but it was just so slow during it's first 2/3, and then suddenly got so fast and scary, that it was just too much a surprise, making it seem forced and unrealistic. However, I thought that the film was great because of Jamie Lee and Donald. GOD HOW I LOVE THAT MAN! Donald was the most underrated actor during the 80's.

He was also good in Escape from New York. I think in Halloween 4 and 5 he was a little too over the top for my taste.

Halloween 4 and 5 kinda made you like him more though. He was always that dark, deep-voiced hero in the first two, but I think that the writing may have given the character some light humor towards horror film buffs for 4 and 5. I recall references towards other horror films there. And then there was #6 for which he was wasted in a 5-minute scene. Sadly the reason was that Donald died after filming that scene, and the script had to be rewritten. The result was a boring and uninetionally funny mess.

I never understood who the guy in black was that wasted everybody in the police station and why he helped Michael.

It's a VERY tough one to explain...but I'll tell u as simple as possible:

The man in black was the leader of a group that was associated with the druids...who had been haunting Michael for years and years driving him to kill his sisters. The man who has been in control of Michael's mind is the one who wakes him up from his one-year coma. AND Michael and the man share the same tatoo opn eachother's wrists...a symbol of the druids. The man wanted to save Michael because of the fact that his sprits are not really living unless Mike is on his crazy killing sprees. The two kidnap the niece, and she has to live in a secret catacombs with them for years...the rest are spoilers...and are revealed in Part 6.

Thank for that info. I could've sworn the guy in black was the head doctor in part 1. It should've been the lead villian in part 3 to tie all the movies together.

I thought it was good the whole movie. It was creepy, Michael lurking around watching Laurie and her friends them not knowing who he was and what he was doing...that was what was really creepy to me as a kid, and still even today I take a good look at who or what is driveing a Stationwagon!! :p

Has anyone ever seen Friday the 13th 3 in it's 3d format? Why isn't it on 3d on dvd? I like the gimmick of 3d horror- Freddy's dead was ok- but the glasses hurt your eyes. It'd be great to get movie prints of the 3d films to screen.

Also: Is Jamie Lee Curtis character also related to Michael Myers?

The first Friday the 13th was and still is one of my favorite horror movies of all times. It told how the camp was started and why Jason drowned in ther lake and that his monther wanted to get revenge of all the camp clounser at camp crystal lake. Part 2 was fair,it said it was five years later from the original movie, but how could that be? Jason must a been a teen in the first one. Remember when Amy Steels charater Amy was sitting at the bar and said that "Jason, must a saw his monther get be headed " Part 3,was stubid, part 4 was good and 5, 6 was allright,it had a story line for almost every charater. The last movie Freddy Vs Jason was allright, but it was not as good ai it said it would be.
