My favorite episodes from my favorite show:
BEAVER GETS 'SPELLED (Oct. 4, 1957)
The pilot episode, where Beaver loses a note that he has to bring home from school, causing him to fear that he will be expelled.
Trivia note: Notice the date of this episode. Can you guess what other historical event happened on the very same day? Of course, "Beaver"'s premiere was far more important. (Answer next week.)
WALLY'S PUG NOSE (Feb. 5, 1959)
Wally resorts to drastic measures after a girl insults his appearance.
WALLY'S TEST (Jan. 23, 1961)
One of my Top 10 favorite sitcom episodes of all time.
Eddie accuses Wally of cheating on his history test and tries to literally catch him in the act red-handed. And remember...."To thine own self be true.---Polonius and Mr. Gannon
THE BIG FISH COUNT (Feb. 18 1961)
Beaver and Gilbert try to win a contest at the pet store where Eddie just happens to working.
IN THE SOUP (May 6, 1961)
The definitive "Beaver" episode and my favorite of the series. The one where Beaver falls into the giant soup bowl. What more needs to be said? This is comedy at its best!
LONG DISTANCE CALL (June 16, 1962)
Beaver and his friends place a long distance call to Los Angeles Dodgers superstar Don Drysdale. Memorable for Beaver's classic question to Drysdale: "Do you spit in your glove?".
LUMPY'S SCHOLARSHIP (March 7, 1963)
Wally decides to throw a party for Lumpy after Lumpy receives a college football scholarship.
