i liked it. this might just be my opinion, but they seem to be bringing back the older elements of how sitcoms were in early 90s and even earlier. they wrapped things up in the end in a prespective, and the jokes were pretty funny too. i hope it lasts.

I thought it was great!! I can't wait to see what the ratings are when they're released sometime tomorrow . . . hopefully they were good! I'm looking forward to next week's episode.

Wow, this show was everything I thought it wouldn't be! I seriously thought 'Life with Bonnie' would be better, but LWB didn't have ONE laugh in it, cancelled mid-season I bet! Well, here's my opinion.

---

The humor was hilarious! I believe this show will bring ABC back up to the top 10. In fact, I give the show a 10/10. I'm glad I recorded it! This show was WAY better than I thought. I laughed every few seconds! I am picking this show over In-Laws, that's for sure! Thank god this premiered before In-Laws. It looks boring anyways.

The Currents and Arts section in the San Diego Union Tribune gave it 1 and a half stars. Not only that they gave 8 simple rules to making a good sitcom. Here's the link:

First... it was really funny. Second... Roseanne?!? What are they talking about?!? Third... it's really hard to be completely "original", aince most shows basically aren't. The family comedy works great I think, and this show deserves much more than 1 1/2 stars!

the only one i agree with in the review is the age issue of the characters.

That was the worst review I read for this show. All the other reviews were pretty good for it. 3 or 3 1/2 stars.

Yeah I liked more than I expected to.A few gripes though:

1.Umm the whole AIM thing was already done on George Lopez and so it really wasn't original.

2.No theme song? I know it's only the first show but no theme song (Well it had one but it was like a "Do do do do do do do do" type of thing.Really quick and stupid).

3.Can someone PLEASE dub Kaley Cuoco's voice? I mean sure she's kind of attractive but come on her voice is too Bronx-y for her body.

4.PaVan what do you mean by a REAL sitcom?

This is a good one, I haven't seen a good sitcom in years. Life with Bonnie wasn't that bad. Probably the last good show to leave the air was Home Improvement (I only liked the early years though).

She sounds fine to me, her character is suppose to talk that way. She doesn't talk that way in real life, according to some interviews I have heard of her.

Remember that this was a newspaper's opinion, not mine. I haven't seen the show yet (It's about an hour away from starting, pacific time) so I cannot really tell you how I liked it.

OMA! God Sitcomwriter, it was a good show. Leave it alone. The opening credits weren't 'too short and stupid'. There's no such thing as right or wrong credits. And, you pick out the smallest things out of shows and make them your big deals in life. You're old enough, go get a job already!

Notorious

and the show was WAY original! I haven't seen another show much like it (besides that people forming a family was in it) and the whole AIM thing was small, and probably wasn't ANYTHING like George Lopez. Oh, and look closely JP, it is NOT AIM.

Well, it sort of was. You started making fun of someone who 1.Is an actor, which what you wanna be and never will! 2.Probably looks better than you! - So, that was rude, and you insulted a few other things. Oh, and didn't you say on AIM 'I Liked it, but it's not on my top 100! LOL!'.

Ahh!! I LOVE HI! I wanted to see this show SO bad, but I skipped to watch my season premiere of That 70s Show, but next week Im DEF. taping 8 Simple Rules...!! I LOVE John Ritter and from what I saw in the previews will probably LOVE the show! I loved him on Tuesday nites in the late 70s (Ok, I was born in '84 sue me!), and Im sure Ill love him on Tuesdays again!
BTW- that review SUCKED! How dare they compare it with Roseanne! I dont see why Notorious is insulting other peoples opinions and even INSULTING them- we're rating the show, not the board members. Get over it.

Actually there WERE similarities to Roseanne.I agree that Darlene and Kerri are alike in some ways.I mean the hair and the sarcasm most importantly! HOWEVER I don't think Becky and Bridget are very much the same with the ecption of the B in their names.Life with Bonnie was also very Roseanne-y IMO but nobody talked about the comparisons of them! (The New York Daily News compared LWB to Curb your Enthusiasm and The Larry Sanders Show but NOT Roseanne.Personally I would have compared it to CYE,TLSS and Frasier or at least that episode of Frasier in which he and Bebe hosted a Morning Talk Show).

oops...uh i didnt know there was an 8 Simple Rules for Dating my Teenage Daughter board....so i'll copy and paste what i said on the Three's Company board.

Well, OMG!!!!!!!!!!!! I watched it yesterday and taped it and i just wanna say its MUCH better than i expected!!!!! Omg, it was so funnyyyyyyyyy! The first thing i found really funny was when Bridget came downstairs and Paul saw her thong and said "Maybe that's why your generation is so angry.....you always have wedgies!" And i thought it was HILARIOUS when Kerry was in a bad mood and Paul says "Are you having your.....Are you on your.....is it your...." and then he says "BIRTHDAY?" Oh that was funny!!!! And his convo with "Chatroom Jesse" was funny too.
"Yes it me, dawg!" But i think the funniest, funniest part was right after Kerry says no one asked her to homecoming and then Paul has a talk with her and Kerry says "Do you think I'm pretty?" N that whole thing starts and then Rory comes downstairs and Paul is sitting on the couch. Then Rory says "Dad.............do you think I'm pretty?" Then Rory starts laughing and Paul says GET OUT!

I LOVE THIS SHOW!!!!!!! WOOHOO I LUV U JOHN U ROCK!

oh by the way did anyone watch regis and kelly yesterday at 10? JOHN WAS ON!!!!!!! And he talked about the Three's Company telefilm!!!! And then they showed this tape of him in 1967 when he was on the dating game coughcoughcoughhewaskindahotttttcoughcoughcough! And OMG Regis and Kelly tapes in New York City.....and thats only 45 minutes away from me........so that means John was only 45 minutes away....... *faints*

Anyway, i can't wait for next weeks episode!

I thought it was OK. It was pretty funny. They sure made it clear what the series was going to be about, but I really do hope not every single episode is like this. They're going to need more variety, or people are going to stop watching. I'm just one of those people who can't judge off one pilot episode, lol, but so far it looks good. I liked the part where Kerry is asking Paul if she thinks she's pretty....and then after a lot of consoling.... "Yes, I do think you're very pretty." She kind of smiles at him and then, "What do you know, you're like 100." That cracked me up. There were other parts that made me smile, but that was the one part where I actually laughed out loud.

I liked the show a lot...didn't love it. I think it was sort of annoying how John Ritter was so obsessed with his daughters and their whereabouts. I hope that isn't the big premise, because I think it will wear thin fast with viewers.
It had some very funny scenes, and I enjoyed it. It's great having John Ritter back on TV.

I finally got a chance to watch the tape last night.
I thought there were some funny moments, and the cast was pretty good.
I'm sure Kelly Cuoco (Bridget) will become very popular. I see a cover of Maxim somewhere in her future.
I hope they feature Katey Segal more in future episodes. It's nice to see her doing something other than Peg Bundy.

All in all, pretty good.

Wowza! From ratings, it my actually be not just the #1 new sitcom, it might just be the #1 show! Not #1 NEW show, just show period! If I'm correct, the 1st two episodes have both gone to #4. That is the best rating for ABC sitcoms in over a year! I didn't have faith in the show until now.

Was disappointed I missed the first two eps. Fortunately ABC Family re-ran them last night (what a different era we live in than in the 80s, where you had one chance to see a re-run maybe a few months down the line. Now we have multiply owned networks that begin rerunning shows in their first year rather than fourth. Anyway...)

It was ok. I love Ritter having grown up on Jack Tripper, so I've always given his new shows a chance, be it Hooperman or Hearts Affire.

The pacing was a little too quick, where the writers try to go for a joke on seemingly every line. They managed some good ones though.

The daughters were completely intolerable for me. Entirely too bitchy and pushy. Felt Ritter needed to stand up to them more.

The son was funny. Might've had the best lines.

I felt Katey Sagal was completely wasted. She was barely in the first two shows. Stuck on a cell phone most of the time, she proved for 10 years that she is as good as anyone at sarcasm. Hope they use her more.

And the daughters wavering emotions toward their father needs to be changed. Not sure how long viewers will be able to put up with their attitudes for a five year run.

It is a bit "Home Improvement"-ish, a show I enjoyed for it's first few years as well. They had one of the better pilots of any family show I've seen.

I think this show is a major comeback for Ritter...and the writing is quite funny. BUT...I have one problem. Do something with Katey Segal's character!!! She's in the episodes for about 6 or 7 minutes total!!!

I thing the show is very entertaining it's good to see John Ritter back on TV again, the show is just hilarious, I can't really at it just after a few episodes, but I think it was great, the characters are definately funny. I really liked Bridget character, she has a wacky sense of humor. The chemistry between Karry and Bridget is great. John Ritter is just hysterical, the whole show was just unpredictable.
