In honor of the recent revelation that the Notorious BIG helped plot Tupac Shakur's murder:
*We find out that Ice Cube, who was so "hard" that he once made an album called "Death Certificate", was born...Oshea Jackson!!!
*Public Enemy's Professor Griff gets kicked out of the group because the building amount of heat that PE took due to Griff telling a Wash. DC newspaper that the Jews were resposible for most of the world's "wickedness."
*The ODB cashes in a welfare check in front of MTV's cameras. The shocking moments don't stop right there as ODB also crashed into Shawn Colvin's Grammy acceptance speech, performed on stage w/ the Wu-Tang Clan while being labeled a fugitive for breaking out of drug rehab, and fathered a variety of illegitament children.
*Snoop Doggy Dogg shows up at the 1993 MTV VMAs when the cops were looking for him after Snoop took part in the shooting death of a gang member (Snoop was eventually arrested the same night).
*Tupac Shakur releases the anti-Bad Boy Records song "Hit 'em Up" which is arguably the most vicious, unrelenting, and vendictive "battle rap/dis song" ever produced.
*The Ice-T fronted band Body Count and their song "Cop Killer" catches heat for supposedly helping instigate the 1992 LA Riots that went down after the cops who beat down Rodney King got acquitted.
*MTV bans NWAs "Straight Outta Compton" and never aired it in its entirety until roughly 10 years later.
*The urban legend that Suge Knight dangled Vanilla Ice over a balcony.
*Dr. Dre leaves Death Row records which begins a gradual downward spiral (i.e. Tupac Shakur gets killed, Suge Knight goes to jail, Snoop Doggy Dogg bolts for No Limit, etc.) soon afterwards.
*Eminem duets w/ Elton John at the Grammys.
*The riot at the 2000 Source Awards.
*Acts like Salt & Pepa and DJ Jazzy Jeff & the Fresh Prince set up a much publicized boycott of the Grammys after it was revealed that the full presentation of the first ever Grammys for rap music wasn't going to make the telecast.
*Mase suddenly quits the music business in order to become a preacher.
*Sean Combs beats up a top music executive when the supposedly "wrong cut" for the video (which featured a recreation of Jesus' crucifixion) that Puffy did w/ Nas "Do You Hate Me Now."
*The rockers from Aerosmith team up w/ the rappers from Run DMC for the now very influential collaboration for "Walk This Way."
*Eazy-Z suddenly dies from AIDS.
