I saw Bill on CNN talking about how sad the Osbournes are the other day, and what I think is sad is that he couldn't even sit up for the interview! :confused: Is he hurt or something? I would rather watch The Osbournes than THe Cosby Show. Now I like Bill. I even do a Bill Cosby impression that a lot of people seem to think is funny, but I don't see why he thinks The Osbournes are "sad". They're probably fricken millionares! OK I forgot most of what I was gonna type cause I'm upset right now.
Hmmmmmm....maybe Ozzy & them do not like JELL-O! Just a thought...:( :wave:

I think Billy Boy needs to realize that the Osbournes is a reality show. It isn't scripted or anything. It's a real family life. The Cosby Show on the other hand, had scripts and all that stuff. The Osbournes probably don't have makeup artists on the set.

I'm no fan of Bill Cosby - as most of you know, I am an Ozzy fan - but I think Bill does kinda have a point. The Osbournes are an extremely disfunctional family. It may be funny to watch them throw lumps of wood through their neighbours windows, but would you think it was so funny if Sharon & co. were throwing stuff at your house? I know I wouldn't.
It may also be sorta amusing to hear them swearing their heads off constantly, but think about it - when you walk down the street and you hear someone talking like that you think that they sound pretty ignorant, don't you? I do.
We see The Simpsons - another dysfunctional family - on TV and it's genuinely funny. But with the Osbournes - real people, not cartoons - it's actually quite scary that a family like this exists. It's also even more scary that people worship them for their exploits.
I do watch 'The Osbournes' - I will admit that - but I don't think it deserves the massive amount of hype it has gotten. I'm also getting sick of seeing Jack's pudgy little face in every magazine and newspaper I pick up.

OK, I was with you on your first paragraph, then things went downhill. You just got done telling us your OPINION, and then you tell her that she doesnt have any common sense because she likes something different than you do? It's called opinion.

Perhaps if her opinion was based on facts, then I would be sympathetic, but it wasn't, so I had to let her have it.

I really could care less whether or not she likes the Osbournes, but to attack a man like Dr. William Cosby, who has dedicated much of his life to educating children, and bringing wholesome television to America, well, I find that apalling.

Bill Cosby is one of the few comedians who can entertain an audience without swearing, or using a harsh verb. He knows how influential young people are, and has made it a point to stay away from this type of language.

He is right to speakout against a show like this, I am sure he was compelled to do so. But there are many other entertainers who feel the same way as Bill Cosby, but they are afraid to speak-up.

Granted, he did have an affair during the early 1970s, but that was something that he and his wife worked through, and they remained married 30 years after the incident. But I commend him for not letting that situation tear his family apart.

The Osbournes are the new cool thing to watch, you are going to see them everywhere from potato chip bags to magazine. Rule #1: If you don't want a back lash don't put your face everywhere. I like the Osbournes now, but the minute I feel overkill has set in- I'll probably grow tired of them. A good example of overkill would be 'Who Wants to be a Millionaire'.

I remember Ozzy Osbourne when he was biting the heads off of birds and throwing their carcases on the ground, during his Rock Concerts, I didn't care for him then, and I certainly do not care for him now.

Not that I went to any of his concerts, I personally do not like that type of music. And I certainly would not pay to see this obviously deranged lunatic.

As far as I am concern, he is just another washed up, burned out British Rock Star. But if you like him, that's on you.

If I am not mistaken, doesn't he still worship Satan? Or is that all part of his act? In any case, I will not be watching his show.

I heard an interview that Cosby had and he said he disliked the show because this was someones reality and he thinks it is sad for all of us to laugh at the things that the Osbournes go through, Just to entertain the country.

Ozzy has never worshipped Satan! He is in fact a very religous man. He may be a bit befuddled but he is a brillaint singer/songwriter and he deserves respect for that, if nothing else!

Ozzy Osbourne is the obvious nutcase. His reality show is done in very poor taste (unlike tasteful, family-friendly, highly amusing reality shows like America's Funniest Home Videos) and his family values stop at a centimeter. How someone cursing about everything is funny is way beyond me. More power to you, Bill Cosby! Here's hoping MTV dies and TV Land 2 takes its place...

A lot of people are nutcases, Ozzy just happens to have a show. I don't think he's a nutcase though.

I didn't much care for Bob Saget on America's Funniest Home Videos. Actually, I could stand Ozzy rather than Bob anyday. :lol:

I do think Ozzy has family values. I've heard him tell his children many times not to do drugs or any of the bad stuff kids could get into. Just because a family isn't like the family on Full House doesn't mean they haven't any family values. That's my opinion.

Cosby's obviously mad because he knows that he will most likely never get a new show. I'd prefer any of the 10 eps of Osbournes over the 100+ eps of The Cosby Show. Bill can probably have a show where he ISN'T married to Phylicia Ayres-Allen. Maybe a buddy sitcom with Richard Pryor?

Black Sabbath is just a name of a band - it reflected the style of music they performed, not the personal beliefs of the band members! And I know plenty of people who swear yet still go to church - believe it or not it is possible to do both these things!

The Osbournes aren't THAT dysfinctional. I mean They're WEIRD but when u think about it, they have a normal family relationship, they;re just all WEIRD, so to us it seems abnormal. I mean he tells his kids not to do bad stuff, and people think they;re messed up because Jack smoked or smokes or whatevers pot... LOTS of people do stuff like that... But they dont go on TV with it. LOL... I mean, ive gone outside and blasted music and screeched to annoy my neighbors for being to loud hen their kids play in the yard and a normal day for us is having my dad go into the walls to get the bird out or getting the dead rat pieces away from the house. Goddamn cat... We don't throw ham, but my freinds all agree that if there was a show about me it would be ALMOST as popular as the osbournes... I dont curse as much tho (when my parents are around) so i wouldn;t gt guud ratings.

I think he realizes that The Osbournes is a reality show, I don't think he is saying that The Osbournes should be a family sitcom or anything like that but that they might not have the best morals or handle situations correctly.

I wish there where more people like Bill Cosby, who at least has some values! I can't believe that so many people look up to this discusting, trampy family! Who in their right minds would EVER wish to have a family like thiers? If my family ever turned out like their's...well, I think I'd find jumping of a bridge rather appealing!

The person who started this thread pointed out that Bill Cosby is nuts to shun the Osbournes when he has an 'illetigamate love child', and who's son died in a drug related case. For one thing, is his son dying his fault? What were you trying to say with that remark? EVERY family has thier mistakes and tradgeties! I really don't think that Cosby is PROUD of these two things. It's one thing to have things happen in your life that you resent or are sorry for, it's another to have those things and be proud enough of all of them to display them on national television!
I think anyone who watches the Osbournes and actually appreciates thier vulgur and crude behavior has some serious issues! Very, very sad! :(

We lived in Laguna Beach, our house was ALWAYS clean(just because you like to live in filth, doesn't mean everybody else's house have to be like that). I´m very religous and use swearin words quite frequently...and have done so since I´m fourteen.....and Yes...my mom hates it...she taught me not to swear...but well....I still do it.

the thing about the bat he bit the head off....he had the habit of biting off the heads of plastic/toy animals....someone threw the dead bat on stage and he bit it off...sometimes it would be better read the stuff.....I never considered him a Satanic person....

BIll Cosby has a LOT more class than Ozzy Osbourne will ever have. I completely agree with him saying that it's a poor example of family life. I hate "The Osbornes" and it's just another stupid reality show.

At least on the Cosby Show, the actors/actresses had to work hard to learn their lines and make it believable on screen. With reality shows, people just say and do whatever they want.

Ozzy Osborne has done a LOT worse than have an affair (and as someone mentioned that took place in the SEVENTIES! ) and it wouldn't surprise me if that whole family had done drugs at one point or another. I know that Kelly was trying to start a singing career, and she actually wasn't bad but what ever happened to that? :confused:

I agree with most others. I'd rather watch an entire marathon of "The Cosby Show than ten seconds of the "Osbourne's"

As for his son, I never heard that it was drug-related and who's to say that the people who did the killing weren't on drugs. I seriously doubt that his son was. His son was really smart and was studying to become a teacher from what I remember.
