I already did a topic like this but one person pointed out that I didn't put enough shows on the poll. So this time I decided to add more shows to the poll.
And just so you know groundbreaking shows would be shows that changed the face of television by putting controversial topics that can now be put on tv. Such topics would be racisim, homophobia, sexism, and hatred of religions, and etc. You get where I going. If a show you think was groundbreaking but I didn't put it on the poll let us know what that show is.:D

All In The Family is one of the most obvious picks here since
it broke practically all the known rules of the time.Julia since it
was the first show to have a single black woman as the main
character PLUS she was raising a son on her own.I Love Lucy
since it was THE pioneer of sitcomdom and it's popularity led the
way for many sitcoms to come. The Cosby Show because it is the
first show to show a black family that was successful upper middle
class.

Let me explain why I put some of the shows on this poll.
Julia because she was the first single black woman to have a starring role
All In The Family because it dealt with all kinds of bigotry(Although I personally don't like the show it was a very big ground breaking show so I had to list it)
Roseanne because it was the first show where the wife never listened to the husband and was the boss of the show and the first show to have gay character with reaccuring roles and such subjects as masterbation were in the scripts.
The Cosby show because it was the first black family to be in the upper class.
I Love Lucy although it was one of the first shows it was the first show to have an interacial couple.
Will and Grace because it was the first show to have a gay male character lead and a gay male supporting character.
Ellen because it was the first show to have a lesbian character as a lead. And it inspired such a hit as Will and Grace.

The Cosby Show... it was something that had never been done before and worked wonderfully and excelled in ratings.

Also...
Mary Tyler Moore -- Single woman in the work place and making it on her own
Murphy Brown -- single mother, caused the stir with VP Dan Quayle
Saturday Night Live -- not necessarily a sitcom, but it broke LOTS of rules
This is just a sampling...
