John Ritter's new sitcom "A Few Simple Rules" has landed on ABC Tuesdays this fall, it will air at 8:00PM E/P.
This will be confirmed later today (Tuesday) between 4-7pm/et when ABC presents it's fall lineup to advertisers.

Buffy will be a breeze. JAG is the only question mark.
I think 8 Simple Rules and JAG will battle, but "Rules" will win. Followed by That '70s Show, In-Laws (should be canceled after atleast 10 episodes), then Buffy, and whatever the heck airs on The WB on Tuesdays at 8.

I think 8 Simple Rules has a good chance of seeing a second season. It's going up against "Buffy" and "Gilmore Girls' on UPN and WB. Both have big followings, but UPN/WB shows usually aren't the reasons for cancellations. I have to agree with Pavanbadal on "In Laws", since Tuesdays at 8 has been a weak point for NBC for aw hile now. I don't see "That '70s Show" doing anything. I agree with Pavanbadal about "JAG" being it's main competetor.

I don't think John needs to worry about Buffy. But I think the competition with JAG will be rough since that show has finally got a much larger audience. I think In Laws will be competion though, it looks really good. I think NBC will have success with that show. I'll probably end up watching In Laws instead of John's new show.

I agree In-Laws looks funnier imo.

8 Simple Rules... is by far the best new sitcom of the season. It's the sitcom with the least chance of being canceled. In-Laws was the one that was listed as one of the firsts to get the boot. They should have put this behind Frasier, I don't think it can carry by itself. There is no question that ABC and CBS will be battling for this half hour. With FOX and NBC battling for 3rd and 4th. One source said it the best, " If you had to choose John Ritter or Dennis Farina for a laugh, there is no question that John Ritter is the OBVIOUS choice."
I think "8 Simple Rules" will be a hit. I wanna check out a sked for the networks to make sure I don't forget when the shows I want to see come on.

Just because I have different opinion on a tv show that I would rather watch doesn't make be brain dead. I watch a show if it looks good to me. Not because the actor or actress who is in it. Even the best actors get lousy movies and tv shows.

I might watch it. To me, my new fav sitcom is Reba. too bad it's on WB though. ABC should have picked it up, but whatever.

i hope this show goes on for 20 years. i wanna see how the acting mixes in with the title of the show. like, if he gives a different rule each week for dating his teenage daughter, and which one?
