Remember the old Nick at Nite in the 1990s when it didn't make fans irate? I am looking for a web site or any fans with a good memory of a Nick at Nite lineup from 1991-1995. (I remember it had shows like Mister Ed, Mork and Mindy, Get Smart, and the Mary Tyler Moore show at one point). I really miss those days. They should have stayed with classic shows instead of changing to an all-new format that leaves fans infuriated and confused. I can see why so many understandably angry fans are leaving Nick at Nite.

Don't forget N@N also had "The Lucy Show" during that time (early 90's). I too sure miss the olden days of Nick at Nite up and til the summer of 2000. The one line-up that I remember the most from the early 90's is:
8:00- "I Dream of Jeannie"
8:30- "Bewitched"
9:00- "I Love Lucy" (uncut version)
9:30- "The Bob Newhart Show"
10&10:30- "The Mary Tyler Moore Show"
11:00- "The Dick Van Dyke Show"
11:30- "Get Smart"
12:00- "Dragnet"
12:30- "The Lucy Show"
Nick at Nite Overnight (1am-6am):
"Mork and Mindy", "Alfred Hitchcock Presents", "The Adventures of Superman", "The F Troop", Repeats.
Anyone remember this line-up as well?
I rarely watch Nick at Nite anymore. I don't find it that much entertaining now unlike the past. I wish Nick at Nite kept the older shows instead of the newer ones. Nick at Nite doesn't feel the same as it used to be.
It has really gone downhill since the passed year. Anyone feel the same?
How about Nick@Nites line up from their debut summer ( July 1985 )...
8:00PM Dennis the Menace
8:30PM Donna Reed
9:00PM The Nick@Nite Movie
11:00PM Route 66
They also aired a show called Turkey Television but I forgot what time they aired it but on tape I got a promo for it.
gotta start somewhere.
Watching the tape from the week they went on the air, does anybody recall how Nick@Night went on the air? A scene ( done in cartoon form ) of a bus with the characters of Donna Reed & Dennis on it with the words "Camp Nickelodeon".
Also does anybody remember a show Nick aired in its "prime time" line-up at 8pm ( I believe ) before they went of the air for A&E at 9 ( at least they did on my cable system in 85 )called "Livewire". It was a talk show for teens hosted by some blond guy whose name I have long since forgot.
It was on back when NIck was commerical free.
I Remember when REM did that show. VH-1 aired a clip on their before they were rock stars show ,not too long ago of REM when they did Livewire.

I miss the old days I'd guess around 1989 when i was in 7th grade, I used to watch America 2 nite, Dobie Gillis, and the Patty Duke show. I think Dobie was on at 1 and Patty Duke was on afterwards. I miss those days.

I think NAN has gotten better, now they have Cheers, which is a great show. I miss Lucy Saturdays though, with two I Love Lucy episodes followed by a Lucy Desi Comedy Hour, they should still do that.

I remember that Saturday Night Line-Up. Nick at Nite called it "Lucy: Queen of Comedy". I watched that a couple a times. I wish TV Land would do something like that. The other one that I enjoyed alot was "Whole Lotta Lucy".

i remember watching this when i was 3 and 4 years old! those are the best memories of my childhood. (i know im sad, but im only 13 now) lol
8:00- "I Dream of Jeannie"
8:30- "Bewitched"
9:00- "I Love Lucy"
In addition to the great shows that were mentioned, I enjoyed the corny gimmicks. My life hasn't been the same without Better Living Through Television and How to be Swell. I've been Nick free for several months now. There isn't enough variety and too many double takes.

Fall 1987
8:00pm Make Room for Daddy
8:30pm Mr Ed

10:00pm Rowan and Martin's Laugh-In
10:30pm The Monkees
11:00pm Ann Southern Show/Susie
11:30pm I Spy
12:30am Make Room for Daddy
1:00am Mr Ed
1:30am Donna Reed Show
1:30pm Rowan and Martin's Laugh-In
2:00am The Monkees
2:30am Ann Southern Show/Susie
3:00am I Spy
4:00am Nick at Nite movie
Oh and for the record, the message board member from West Virgnia is correct about the A & E network cutting off Nickelodeon after 8:00pm I would be seeing these promos for Nick at Nite and the the Donna Reed show would start and the A & E would cut in. most of the cable companies at that time(including mine) were doubling up the 2 networks since Nick only went up to 8:00pm My Dad's cable company was different from mine when I was younger so I would have to go to his house if I wanted to wacth Mr. Ed. Also during the summer of 1986, Nickelodeon aired in the afternoon :
1:00 The Donna Reed Show
1:30 My Three Sons
2:00 Mr. Ed
Man, I was about 8 years old, but remember this schedule.

From what I remember: "Dennis the Menace", "Lassie", and "Flipper" were shown in the afternoons of Nick and in the early mornings of Nick at Nite. I sure miss those days of good 'old classic tv a lot.

When Nick pulled the Patty Duke show from the primetime slot, they moved it to weekday afternoons at 4:30pm. This happened around late 1989 or early 1990. The old shows that did have a daytime slot that I do remember are the following:
Flipper
Jeff's Collie/Lassie
Dennis the Meanace
The Donna Reed Show
Mr. Ed
The Bad News Bears
Looney Tunes (LOL) it aired also 12am in 1991
The Patty Duke Show
The Wonder Years
The Brady Bunch
The Monkees
Lancelot Link Secret Chimp aired at 4:30pm weekdays
Pinky and the Brain(Nick at Nite Logo is shown)
Rugrats
Camp Runamuck
Back in the early 90's, Nickelodeon was taking requests for certain episodes kids wanted to see and one girl requested an episode of Get Smart when Max and 099 get married. Can you imagine if someone requested "Cheers"? LOL.
Do any of you remember Nick at Nite's TV Dinner Sunday night special from 1987 or 1988's Nick at Nite's Sunday Snack time? Or Even "Special Delivery" which aired at 2pm E/T on weekends?

I just saw the coolest thing. I had traded Route 66 tapes with someone, and I just sat down to watch them today. One of the episodes he had was from Nick at Nite during their first anniversary. They had some of the stars of the shows they were running say Happy Anniversary (George Maharis and the Livingston boys were the ones I saw.)
Then of course there were the ads. My Three Sons, Smothers Brothers, Dennis the Menace... and yes, the Nick at Nite Club featuring the Nick at Nite movie. They even were asking TV nuts to write them and tell them how big a TV fan they were. I wonder what they did with the responses?
Anyway, that was so cool to see!

The thing I remember the most about Nick was its promos, another area in which they have gone down. In fact when they had their 10th birthday show it was ALL promos. My favorite one was with Donna Reed done in a rock concert setting "The Stones". Made one think of the Rolling Stones but of course it was for Donna "Stone" . Cool !!
They also had another one for Dennis the Meanace that was cool too, making use of Mr. Wilson's corny sayings. "Fiddle faddle" for example.
WE first got nick in 1983 and believe it or not, many dont remember today but Nick was at one time a COMMERICAL FREE CHANNEL. I remember the uproar that was created when Nick started airing commericals and reruns.
At the time there was a group out of Boston ( I believe ) called Action for Childrens Televison and they protested loudly at Nick's decision. Til 1985 Nick's primetime pretty much was the teen talk show Livewire.
Livewire was very well done and its a shame Noggin doesnt rerun that like it does the Electric Company. Never forget the one show they did that featured Video games including kids from a town in Texas that actually made it illegal for kids to play them. They even featured those 2 guys who gave us the one hit wonder classic Pac man Fever. Now THAT goes way back!!
then Nick became A&E and if memory serves correctly A&E was commerical free too. At that time A&E was a lot like PBS, lot of operas for example. Then both channels went round the clock and started airing commericals and became the channels we know today.
Today's NICK@NITE is sad when compaired to what it was once. But now that N@N comes on the air at 10, this was brought up before here, unless the current limeup is based on opinions of some narrow minded consultants ( "no 50s stuff young people dont like it "" no Bewitched, all of its main actors are dead but Lucy is OK, everyone loves Lucy")I really believe in a few years Nick@Nite may be a memory.
After the current 80s phase, I am sure they will go into a 90s phase but after that then what? Become a channel like TNN or TBS? A channel that is no more different than many local channels?
If that happens, I would rather see Nick@Nite
rerun regular NIck, afterall many of those shows have large adult viewers too. Just like Bommerang.

When do you think Nick at Nite went belly up? I think the started last year. Last September after picking up The facts of life and 3'company. B4 last september, they were consistent with the way they aired their shows. They had an assortement of older shows:
Gilligan's Island
The Beverly Hillbillies
The Brady Bunch
All in The Family
The Jeffersons
The Facts of Life
I Love Lucy
The Wonder Years (was not an old show, but took place in the 60's and 70's, so I let this show slide)
Taxi
Newhart
Then by summer 2000 these shows were getting ready to make a swtich to TV Land.
The Mary Tyler Moore Show
The Dick Van Dyke show
TGIF is dead, looks like NAN will be tooif they continue to go at this rate. Technically NAN is within their rights to pick up these shows like Cheers. Taxi was only 16 years old B4 NAN picked it up and Laugh in was 19 years old B4 it was picked up. Cheers and Family Ties are 19 year old shows, so hey, what can you do? I think shows from the 50's, 60s, and 70's, look and stay forever different while some shows of the 80's look more contemporary.

Sure. Why don't you send me a private email (it's listed at the top there). Or I could just dub mine for you.
I remember the old line-up. Those were the days, lol. The line-up was great from 1991-96. Then it went down hill. I loved it back then, felt so comfortable and was always steady, didnt constantly change. Now they show double take of everyshow, which sucks.
I miss the old schedule, what was a good schedule. I remember when, Munsters, MTM, I love lucy, jeannie, bewitched, dick van dyke, bob newhart, phyllis, rhoda, white shadow, welcome back kotter, Taxi and a few others used to all be on. Thats when it was good. I want that again, lol
Does anyone remember the classic tv man in the tv that always fixed it. I liked him.
I think the N@N would be good if they showed the Jeffersons, facts of life, different world, threes company, mary tylor moore, dick van dyke, bewitched, cheers, beverly hillbillies,All in hte family and maybe some others, were all on one at a time, oh yeah and taxi. That would be a good schedule. the double a night htink is not good, they run through a shows broadcast to fast.

Well, I'm not sure exactly what month Nick at Nite began airing. Going through old TV Guides, throughout July 1985, the grid listed Nick as being Off the Air at night. It wasn't until August of 1985 when listings for Nick at Nite were listed, and yes, Route 66 was on in August of 1985.

You know, Nick used to be a good network for not only showing good shows, but there weren't as many commercials! I got more Route 66 eps. the other day, and one episode was aired apparently on Nickelodeon during a special Nick-at-Nite on Nickelodeon preview. Anyone remember that? Anyway, all in all, they would have TWO commercials, show, TWO commercials, show, a bigger chunk in the middle, then TWO commercials, show. More show for your money.
I'm so envious of the past. No three-minute long commercial breaks.

She says "Um, The Brady bunch, the wonder years, the jeffersons, uh, uhhh, the jeffersons, i love lucy, and....BEWITCHED! and the announcer says "All right SUSAN!" LOL.
