The acquisition of 20 classic TV titles from the Screen Gems library including The Donna Reed Show, Soap, Square Pegs, Hazel, S.W.A.T. and several other titles, which begin airing on TV Land in June.

Aren't Coach and Roseanne a little too recent to be on N@N? And weren't they supposed to pick up ALF reruns?
At least they still have Cheers and The Cosby Show, two of my 80's favorites.

N&N has slumped into a coma, with very little brain activity showing on the monitor. It's sad to say but it is unknown when or if N&N will ever wake up. Perhaps a year from now, someone should consider turning off the life support.

Isn't it funny that as TV Land gets better, N@N gets worse? "COACH" does definatly NOT belong on N@N! I mean, I remember it! That is pretty bad! Goshness, that show hasn't even been off the air for 5 years! Grr N@N is skipping a great selection of classic TV shows that have not been seen for quite a while. I know my TV will be tuned into TV Land this summer, because they have quality TV! Unlike N@N.

Well, isn't this just dandy? If I wanted to watch Coach I would've watched it on TBS!!!! N @ N is getting all of TBS' hand me downs. This sucks so much. I wish they would get rid of the channel completely and just add a Tvland 2 channel.

That's actully a good idea. More shows and more airings. One channel isn't enough. And what's with Coach and Roseanne. Coach stinks and Roseanne only left about 5 years ago!

well, i haven't seen "Coach" for 8 years now, Nick-At-Nite needs to recover itself after they add "Roseanne" and "Full House", and start thinking of what us viewers wants to see.
I think they chould've add "Perfect Strangers", "ALF" and "One Day At A Time" this fall.
for thier new line-up this fall, i hope they'll won't be so much double takes, put "Family Ties" and "Three's Company" in a better time slot, and if they want to add "ALF", "Perfect Strangers" and "One Day At A Time" in thier line-up, i will be really happy if they do it.
are they're any other shows that are coming in around 2005 and 2006?80's box 90's Box

Although I'm disappointed about the fact that Nick at Nite is going more and more recent, I've heard Coach is somewhat funny, so I'll tune in. I don't like Roseanne.
The George Burns & Gracie Allen show, I've never seen, but have heard its very funny so that's cool. I'm also glad they're keeping the L&D Comedy Hour, because they still haven't show the Ernie Kovacs episode.
As stated in another post, I don't know about the 2 Fernwood shows, but The Monkees sounds very groovy. :)
Inside TV Land is usually pretty cool, and the one about TV theme songs sounds very interesting.
"The acquisition of 20 classic TV titles from the Screen Gems library including The Donna Reed Show, Soap, Square Pegs, Hazel, S.W.A.T. and several other titles, which begin airing on TV Land in June."
The best news from this post, most screen Gems shows rock. Hazel was funny when I saw it and so was Donna Reed. I'll watch the others to see if they are good.
Soap caught my attention (Rod Roddy was the announcer-type person).
Well, it's not That bad...It could be worse.
N@N could be switching to All Cheers, all the time!

Well, first of all... George Burns and Gracie Allen can have their own network for all I care. That show still cracks me up to this day. Although I didn't like Seinfeld very much, he based his show somewhat on GBGA.
As for another post, I would love to see a N@N or TVLand 80s network. Bring back FOL, Silver Spoons, Golden Girls (although already on Lifetime), That's Incredible, etc. I really think that just an 80s TV network would rule!!! It could have game shows, JOHNNY CARSON!!!!, Talk shows, etc etc...

I think most of us can agree that this really sucks big time!:(
If they add Roseanne,which..*koff* *koff* is on TBS currently,
and Coach is this the end of TC and FT on N@N?
I guess us TC fans will have to get used to getting our TC
fix on TNN when that happens.
This makes me wish we got Tv Land.
Stupid,stupid N@N!!!!!:(
I agree btw that they should add Perfect Strangers and Alf
instead of Roseanne and Coach. Also agree that they should
put TC and FT on at better times.
WHO'S THE IDIOT RUNNING N@N?

While everyone seems to feel "Coach" doesnt belong on N@N, I feel it's "Rosanne" that's out of place here.
"Cosby" it's NOT ! A little toooooo cynical for family viewing, of the type that N@N is famous or appropriate for it's kiddie programming. I see a very late night slot on the schedule. Nowhere near "Blue's Clues" !!!
What's next "Married with Children" ?????? Probably, but only heavily sanitized and edited versions. After all of the editing there wont be ANYTHING left !

Just a whole bunch of random observations and such. . .
I don't see why N@N would get rid of Family Ties if/when Coach and Roseanne are added. Correct me if I'm wrong, but FT hasn't even been on N@N for a full year, has it? As for Three's Company, it can go as far as I'm concerned, though staring at Priscilla Barnes' body is a nice fringe benny. I think any show that was on when I was in high school (1994 on), is not old enough to deserve to be on N@N, sharing the same network as such real classics as All In the Family, I Love Lucy, and The Cosby Show, which only went off in 1992.
I will say that if/when Roseanne makes it onto N@N, we will have both ends of the spectrum covered when it comes to representations of the family. In one corner, we have The Cosby Show, sharing the title with Family Ties as "most perfect family on television after 1980", and in the opposite corner would be Roseanne, the all-time most dysfunctional family on television.
The day we see "Married, With Children" on N@N/TVL is the day I say, "Whatchoo talkin' 'bout?" to my professor the next time I get a less-than-impressive grade on something.
Speaking of "Diff'rent Strokes", I know it's on TNN right now (double play weekdays 11am CT), but N@N would be a bit better if they would pick it up. Oh hell, if people want a TVL 2 channel, they ought to (or at least they could) make a TVL 3 and just make it the Norman Lear Channel (e.g. All in the Family, The Jeffersons, Maude, Good Times, Diff'rent Strokes, Facts of Life, etc.)
I've never seen "Soap," but I know that Billy Crystal played an actual gay guy on it (as opposed to how John Ritter on 3C was supposedly gay). Anything with Billy Crystal in it can't be all bad, IMHO. I'll give "Soap" a chance.
Fernwood 2-Night used to be on N@N a few years ago. I thought it was really kitschy '70s fare back when I was 15. I don't imagine my opinion will change now that I'm 21.
Why the hell would anyone even joke about "Full House" being on N@N anytime soon? For one thing, that show is still so widely syndicated that if N@N were to put it on, it would be overkill. By the way, I heard "Saved by the Bell" is also in the N@N works.
Does anyone remember the show "Small Wonder"? It was about a family that had a robotic sister with a monotonic voice that nobody ever seemed to pick up on. I'm also all about "Silver Spoons" making a return.
Okay, what a memorable first post this turned out to be. OUT

I've heard that Full House is coming around 2004 to N @N. When I was younger, I thought this was such a cool show. If I try to watch it now, it just makes me want to vomit. Saved by the Bell used to be another favorite. Now I just can't stand the show. I don't know what it was with me. Maybe I was addicted to something then? Both shows are just so cheesy to me now. If N @ N adds those shows than heaven help them.

I'm in the same boat as you. I grew up watching Full House on TGIF but when it moved to Tuesdays I stopped watching. Then a couple years after that I just grew to hate it. Don't ask me why? I have no idea it's just so sickening. Same thing for Saved by the Bell. Although Saved by the Bell I can now stand. As for Full House, just hearing Michelle say "You Got it Dude" makes me want to smash the TV.

I didn't know that Full House was ever planned to go on N@N. What the hell is up with that? If N@N's going to go around putting Camerons on their network, at least put Kirk on first with Growing Pains. I'd like to know where Jenny gets her info, so I can avoid being so rudely surprised by the next crackpot idea from N@N.

Nick-at-Nite and TVLand are not the "networks for old shows", they show classic television. While you may not agree that some of these shows are classic, they definitely are to the normal viewer.

That's fine, but what is classic television? To me, being truly classic means that it has stood the test of time. To me, it kinda works like the Baseball Hall of Fame, where a player must wait at least five years after his retirement before he can be voted into the Hall. N@N/TVL ought to wait, say, ten years after a certain show has ended its original series run before putting it into the lineup. This means that Cheers is about two years premature, so in my world, it would have to wait. But shows like Coach and Roseanne are quite a bit less than ten years removed from their series finales.
Also, where's Diff'rent Strokes, besides TNN? It ought to be on N@N instead of Three's Company.

Dude, you just have to many shows on your schedule. I know that you know N @ N can only show like 4 shows at a time and rerun those shows to death. That schedule looks like it will be on N @ N in the year 2004, but you'll just have to narrow down the shows.
You're probably dead on about the Mary-Kate & Ashley marathons.

Nick at Nite is CRAP! "Roseanne" was always stupid and "Coach" was never that interesting. You need cable to see Nick at Nite, and those shows are already on cable, so what's the point of picking them up? Same with "The Cosby Show," that's been on WGN and TBS for forever, plus most UPN stations. Do they really think anyone's gonna watch it? And I agree with the Double Takes thing. They show all hour-long blocks of shows. They could fit a lot more programming into a night if they only showed one episode. What's next? Is Nick at Nite going to show reruns of "Sabrina, the Teenage Witch" while it's still making new episodes? That really wouldn't surprise me. TV Land is awesome, it's so hard to believe it goes hand-in-hand with Nick at Nite. Growing up, watching Nick at Nite, I was getting a chance to see the great, old shows that were on before I was born. Now every prime-time show was on regular TV while I was growing up. I've never seen "One Day at a Time," but my mother loved it, so I think that would be a show I'd like to see. Also, I haven't seen "Punky Brewster," "Perfect Strangers," or "Too Close for Comfort" in a regular lineup for a long time! Bring those to your network!

Very Well said! :)
I wish Nick at Nite (or TV Land, or some cable channel) would pick up Benson, Trapper John, MD, TJ Hooker, Fantasy Island, and I'm sure that there are other shows that I'd love to see again, but I can't think of what they are at the moment.
I do know that Coach doesn't interest me.
Full House and Roseanne are already airing on both TBS and WGN, I think. :talk:
