ET IN TV LAND!
If you're a fan of nostalgia and watch Entertainment
Tonight, you'll be ecstatic to know that cable net TV
Land has partnered with the syndicated entertainment-
magazine show to telecast ET in TV Land beginning in
fall 2002. The weekly series will take a behind-the-
scenes look at classic shows like Saturday
Night Live, MASH, Dynasty, The Partridge Family,
Moonlighting, Dallas, and much more. ET has partnered with the music network MTV already.
Of course, if you watch E! Entertainment you probably already know about TV Tales, a similar appeal series that has already taken us on a nostalgic trip to both Saturday Night Live and MASH. If you missed the debut of TV Tales: MASH this past Sunday, don't miss the encore telecast tonight at 8 p.m. ET on E!

It remains to be seen how they handle it.
Someone has put alot of thought into this, but since it, presumably, doesnt include current news, the point of diminishing returns will be reached sooner and repeats will be more frequent.
There is only so much one can say about the subject without repeating oneself.

I'm sure a few will disapprove if it is perceived that these shows will be tying up limited air time.

I enjoyed the visit to Jim Nabors' home, but just to show out of touch these Tv networks are...they could have at least picked a host that shared viewing this show originally. Perhaps intercutting "person in the street" questions could spice up the pace of the show.
Breasts may get the viewers to turnon the show...and themselves...but occasionally I saw a look of incredulity on Nabors' face, when talking to this Barbie Doll who wasnt even born when the show was on TV. It's insulting to viewers and women. So much for how these show biz types are sensitive and "with it".
Dumbing down isnt always good. It insults people.

lol- I love this post. I don't think I've ever seen such an honest post before that held so much truth. I watched that show because of the fact I like Jim Nabors. However, I do agree with you about the Barbie Doll host. I guess adding Barbie was to get the viewers that I had no idea who the hell Jim Nabors was muchless, Gomer Pyle.
How high did the Jim special hit on the Nielsen thing? I'm sure it was divided down the middle for the fans that watched it for Jim and the others that watched it for Barbie.
