Future of 'Osbournes' Sequel Is Cloudy
Tue, Apr 16, 2002 07:09 PM PDT

LOS ANGELES (Zap2it.com) - MTV has struck ratings gold with its new
reality-based sitcom "The Osbournes," which provides a behind-the-scenes
look at heavy metal rock star Ozzy Osbourne and his family. The problem for
MTV, however, is that the Osbourne family might not be too keen to do
another season, which would require cameras being placed in their home for
five more months.

One of the family's biggest problems, according to the New York Post, is
that because of the show's popularity, many tourists have put the Osbourne's
Beverly Hills mansion into their Hollywood itineraries. As a result, the
family's matriarch, Sharon, says she has had to complain to the Beverly
Hills police and that their yard is getting trampled. Apparently, the
Osbournes would be more interested in filming a second season if MTV would
allow them to film in on the family's secluded century-old farmhouse in
England.

The family is also said to want significantly more money to do more
episodes. In fact, some industry insiders put the figure in the high
seven-figures. That may be a small price for MTV to pay, however, as the
network has used the show to capture its highest ratings ever. More than 6
million people tuned in to last week's installment, the sixth of 13
episodes. At this pace, the show could land among the season's top 10
highest rated shows -- including the competition from the big networks.

Because negotiations are underway, MTV won't comment on the likelihood of
the Osbourne family returning.

I read this article too.
I think the show will be back for another season, but MTV is going to pay for it.
Sharon Osbourne is a shrewd businesswoman (some people have more choice words for her business practices) and there is no doubt in my mind their family will reap some major $$$ for starring the highest rated show in the music channel's history.
The question is, will MTV cough up the money?
Plus, the exposure couldn't hurt Ozzy's career. I'm sure his record sales have gone up due to the show's popularity.

I'd like to see a second series but I think that MTV viewers in the UK should get to see it before America.
We should've gotten to see the first series before the USA because Ozzy and his family are British but instead we had to wait for over 4 months after it had been premiered in the States.
The next time, what with the show being filmed in the UK, UK veiwers should without a doubt get to see the show first!

Ya know, they're filming it in the UK cuz of the disrespect of the fans to the Osbourne Manor in LA. Today, on Access Hollywood, they said his home was outside London. The house shouldnt be all too hard to find if it's outside London. Or maybe not. I dunno... I'm stupid. Don't listen to me... this'll be deleted, anyway....

Ozzy's UK home is in Buckinghamshire but it's still a fair ol' distance from London. It's out in the middle of the countryside so it'd be pretty hard to get to if you didn't know exactly where you were supposed to be looking.
