You know how most couples in 50s-early 60s sitcoms always slept in separate beds? Well, how many of you actually knew people that did that, especially younger couples? I mean, my grandparents slept in separate bedrooms, but that was after the kids were grown and out of the house, not when they were babies.

And who was the first couple to sleep in a bed together? Lucy and Ricky during the first season LOOKED like they were sleeping in the same bed, but it was really two beds with their own sheets pushed together.

The first couple to sleep in the same actual bed was Herman and Lily Munster.

Actually, "Mary Kay and Johnny" (1947-1950) was the first sitcom to do this. Unfortunatly, I think the sitcom has been lost.
