Hey All,

This is the one where Wally dates the older girl from the movie theture and Beaver and Gilbert see her in a bar. (Called "beer joint") Considering the "childlike innocence that is LITB" there are issues of smoking, alcohol, and the girl's attitude that are FAR removed from anything else in other episodes. I had not seen that episode for some time, and thought it was very well done and...well....different!

There are a few LITB eps in which Wally and Beaver at least get a glimpse of the world beyond their innocence. This one, also "Beaver and Andy," where Beaver's adult friend is not only an alcoholic, he is dishonest with Ward to get a painting job and he uses Beaver to satisfy his addiction. And the ep where an older boy acts friendly and asks to ride Beaver's 'neat' bicycle, and steals it. And once another older boy lies to Beaver and Larry to 'borrow' some money they were holding for a class fund, then he denies it and threatens them later.

There are probably others too, but finally there is the all-night graduation party where Ward tells the rules: chaperones; no alcoholic beverages; and if anyone leaves the party before it's over next morning, their parents are to be notified. No one states openly what they were implying by these rules, but television of that time presumed the implication was strong enough.

The funniest part of that episode was when she asked Wally to pull over and stop the car. He does, then she completely lip-locks & smothers him. After Wally shoves her aside, his exclamation of "GOLLY" and the look on his face was priceless.
