Its very slow, but it has its advantages, like IMs and BuddyLists and how everyone has it. I just really miss it, cuz my mom switched to some Cox thing so yeah i miss my AOL!! :mad:

Well, I don't have AOL and I'm glad. I have friends in Chicago who have it and hate it because when I'm IMing them, they always get kicked off and it doesn't even get explained. I have Hotmail, and in my opinion, that probably is the best E-mail account you can have. Even though I don't have AOL, you can still have IM's NancyMcKeon1987. Just go to their site and download AIM. It's easy and costs no money and you can still chat w/ people who have regular AOL! I don't know if they let you do that anymore, but I got it about a year ago, and I love it!

Yeah same here. We had it for awhile and then my dad got rid of it. We went to the dial up modem which was really cool for awhile but then it sucked and we got the wonderful cable modem.

I used to have AOL, but then we got RoadRunner. It's way faster and better than AOL and you can get on at any time.

Anyway, I had AOL for three years. 5.0 was GREAT...6.0 was ok....but omg...7.0 sucked. It ALWAYS disconnected for me and it was soooooooooooooooo slow. We got rid of AOL two months ago and now we have a cable modem and its so much better. :D

How do you get a cable modem? I heard that you can download songs in like a matter of seconds. Does it cost more to have a cable modem than dial-up?

I have a cable modem because I use the service Optimum Online (http://www.optimumonline.com/) and the cable modem just came with it. And yes...downloads are sooooooooooooooo much faster. This is more expensive than what I used to have. I used to have AOL and that was $25 a month or something like that....I can't remember. And this costs $44.95 a month :eek:...but I think it's worth it. I don't know how to get a cable modem any other way though....sorry :(

Wow. I pay about $19 a month for my service. Maybe I should ask them to install a cable modem, download all the songs I want (Which will take like a couple minutes, lol) and then call a month later that I don't want the service anymore. :p Sneaky. ;)
