About 12 years ago both Jerry Mathers and Joan Rivers ( and her daughter Melissa ) opened up a supermarket in my hometown. They were in town already as part of the Apple Blossom festival
( Dan Ackroyd , his wife Donna Dixon, Lucie Arnaz and her daughter who is this year's queen are supposed to be this years guests ).

Mathers is actually a nice guy, even gave me an autograph on a copy of TV Guide. Still have it !!!

Joan Rivers on the other hand, not very nice. Cant blame her though, one of our lovely county commissioners TOLD her to go back to her hotel and change her dress as he felt it was too low cut. Joan replyed by saying...well you get the picture.

I have a co-worker who tells me he met Hugh Beaumont back in the 70s. According to him he was into Christmas tree selling but a local tv station picked up the rights to Beaver and had him flown ( I believe from Minnesota ) to cut some promos. According to him, Beaumont was a nice guy but even though it was quite a few years before his death he says you could tell he was already in failing heath.

Ive never met any of them however I did write Barbara Billingsley about two years ago and requested an autograph via SASE. It took about six months but it returned signed-- Barbara Billingsley and she wrote June Cleaver in quotations...I thought that was nice. I also had the same success with Ken Osmond who also signed his name and wrote Eddie in quotations.

No, I can't say that I've met any of the actors from Leave It To Beaver. I know it would really be cool to meet either Jerry Mathers, Tony Dow, or Ken Osmond! I live too far away from the west coast. :D

Have I ever met any of the cast?

Yes, I have met all the cast! (Well, not Hugh Beaumont of course)

For a brief shinning moment, I got to intern on the New Leave it to Beaver in its last season in 1989.

I must say that I don't have a bad thing to say about any of them. Funny thing though, Ken Osmond (Eddie) is probably the most gentle and soft-spoken of them all!)

Barbara Billingsley is as wonderful and warm as June, but perhaps a bit more outspoken.

Jerry Mathers and Tony Dow are very much like their characters- genuine guys.

Frank Bank (Lumpy) is very cool too.

That must've been so cool. I'm still surprised that Ken was the most soft spoken out of all of them. I kind of expected him to be a loud mouth. lol

Welcome to the boards Mark!
