What do you think is the most/least useful invention?

I'm not sure what I would consider the BEST...

but I would have to say reinforcements as the most useless invention ever invented, lol. I mean, who really uses reinforcements here?

Don't jump me, now. :D

 Not wanting to sound like a total ignorant here, but what in the world are reinforcements ? I've never heard of such a thing... I guess that does make it least useful, considering I don't even know what it is...

 I've never heard them called THAT before  If I need any I just ask the guy who sits next to me, who's a store in himself, for those circle things. That's what everyone around here calls them...hmph. Learn something new everyday!

I think DUCK TAPE is the most useful invention;)

 If someone were to ask me for reinforcements I would think of Cops reinforcing someone at a crime scene. That's a new term by me!

One of the most useful inventions for me is the computer. I could, however, live my life without Chia Pet.

Cha cha cha Chia, lol.

Cha cha cha Chia, lol. LOL. I had a Chia Pet once...but instead of putting the seeds OUTSIDE...I placed them INSIDE.

By the way, they never grew. :p

I USE REINFORCEMENTS!!! AND NO! I DO NOT HAVE A POCKET PROTECTOR!!

 Really though, I do. Why I was just sitting in class on Thursday looking down at my binder dividers, thinking I really needed a reinforcement for the bottom hole of my divider. Honest, I was. In fact I have a whole roll of 'em sitting in my desk drawer. Thusly, I contest the ridiculous notion that reinforcements are useless.

Speaking of useless inventions (which I can't decide what I would say the most useless is), I ran across this book once full of useless Japanese inventions. There is an artform in Japan devoted to making "almost useless" inventions.

Don't believe me? Check this pic:
http://www.smh.com.au/icon/0102/22/media/chindogu1.jpg

The artform is called "Chindogu". Here's some info about it. Really, go read it, it's actually interesting: http://www.smh.com.au/icon/0102/22/news1.html

If you can't manage actually reading about it, at least go here: http://www.chindogu.com/ Scroll down to the bottom of the page and click where it says "chindogu #2", etc. and you can see some more wonderful inventions like the one pictured above. (#1 isn't working) It is pretty funny. My fave is #5 "Duster Slippers for Cats" and #4 "Commuter's Helmet"

If you can't manage having to actually click on the links to look at the pictures, here's a page that just has a bunch of pics up: http://www.geocities.com/SoHo/Courtyard/7904/japaneseinventions.html
