TV Land will soon begin airing Paid Programs/Infomercials between the hours of 2AM-4AM. Hopefully this will let them add a minute or two to each show.

Uh, that's either good or bad. Good if they leave A-12 where it is (4am), bad if it disappears.

I with that were true, however I doubt TV land will start airing uncut or midly uncut shows anymore after airing these infomercials. What a shame, a station that started running everything UNCUT 6 years ago and now we are faced with butchered shows, split screen credits, not airing all episodes of a series claiming they are too offensive to show and now informercials. I can remember not too long the commercials touting that there was always something on no matter what time of day. Guess they will have to pull these adds now because NO ONE will be watching those infomercials.

It's sad? Who here is up watching TVLand from 2:00AM to 4:00AM? Don't you know that this is a business, and a business needs to make money somehow, and they probably weren't makin' a lot of money airin' just classic TV shows. Eventually, they had (emphasis on the HAD) to add infomercials.

Well, I agree. And I am up that late sometimes watching TV. If no one was up that late watching TV, then every station would sign off at midnight like they used to.

Few people watch television after midnight. Two hours of infomercials is not bad. Unless, of course, you all want TVLand to not make money. If you want that, then by all means, they should air sitcoms 24 hours a day. It'll only take a few years for the channel to leave the air if it doesn't show a gain.

PPatters, TV Land is owned by Viacom, which is a multi-billion corporation. So you don't make sense! And JT was right about you. Do you even really like sitcoms? You only post when we say things are happening on networks financially!
PPatters

It is a subsidiary of VIacom. It is a cable subsidiary, none-the-less. It has to make it's own money, Viacom is not going to just throw in money whenever TVLand needs it. Mr. Snow, I do make sense, you just are too closed-minded to understand.

That is really insulting! BTW, you are wrong because TNN wasn't very succesful and it still exists!

That really sucks about the infomercials!
When is this supposed to take place?
PPatters

And TNN has changed to become "The National Network" instead of "The Nashville Network" and has taken several steps to improve itself. How am I wrong? You're wrong and are manipulating facts in order to help prove some point you're trying to make.
Here are some facts: Infomercials help television stations get money. Cable stations which are subsidiaries of larger, multi-billion dollar companies do not necessarilly get a ton of financial help directly from that company. Before cable companies start asking for money, they must create a plan in order to help from preventing a problem, such as loss of money, from occuring. The addition of infomercials to schedules is a good way to help a channel gain money.
TVLand obviously needs money (or they wouldn't add infomercials), so they've decided to get that money by adding two hours of infomercials at 2:00AM EST and PST, a time that MOST people don't watch television.

PPatters, I'm gonna say this in the nicest way, but would you.....SHUT UP!
You are making terrible statements about people's characters, and I can tell you this: THat's not welcome here!
I'm not changing any of the facts. TV Land has changed along with TNN. TVLand is now more of a 60s/70s station.
And a lot of people on here do stay up that late!
PPatters
09-15-2001, 08:02 PM
Yeah, well a lot of people on here don't represent the majority of people that watch the channel! Furthermore, I'm sure everyone is liking how you tell people to "shut up" and how YOU have indeed bashed me. I'm sure people love that. All hail Sean Snow, everyone. He seems to think he's the SitcomsOnline GOD! ALL HAIL THE SELF-PROCLAIMED SITCOMS-ONLINE GOD!
Sean Snow

I do not!
And people on here have called others worse. I've only told two people ever on here to shut up.
And people don't like you being like you are with the mocking. And you've barely posted 20 times and you're already Veeeerryyy rude!

Pocahantas: Maryanne, I know there's something desperatly missing in your life!
Maryanne: How did you know?
Pochantas: I saw it in your eyes, I read it in your face, I read it on your bumpersticker that says "Welcome, Shriners"!

He MUST think he's the SitcomsOnline.com god, he talks like he knows what everyone thinks. So, tell me then Mr. Sean "Self-Proclaimed SitcomsOnline.com God" Snow, if everyone thinks I'm rude, what does everyone think you are? Devil Spawn?
This is great to hear. I'm glad life is too short to watch crap. Since Viacom is so poor why not run paid programming 24 hours 7 days a week! It just keeps getting easier and easier not to watch any of this conglomerate's channels.

I don't know what everyone thinks, I'm just posting about what has happened before. And how do you know what I think. I'm not gonna reply to anything you say on this thread. You just make no sense.

Which brings me to another point. On another message board, I have been there for a year now, and still only have 1800 posts, yet he has almost 3000. I have to stay on the internet a LONG, LONG time to get those 1800 posts. Do you SLEEP, Sean Snow?
And, furthermore, dawsongirl, if I wanted to I could go ahead and make 2000 more posts, but that does change anything about me. Just like with Sean Snow. He was closed-minded when he joined, and he's even more closed-minded after almost 3000 posts. Poor dawsongirl and her poor arguements.

And, BTW dawsongirl, the Devil's been along for almost all eternity. Since he's been here so long, does that make him better than say the late Princess Diana? He's older. Using your great reasoning, since Sean has mroe posts that makes him better than everyone. Well, then, guess what. If we go by numbers, then dawsongirl, the Devil must be just as good as god.

Oh this is nothing new for PPatters. You should see him over at the GSN message board. He's always stating his opinion and whenever someone disagrees with him, he insults him to the fullest extent. It's like he is the ultimate god of game show information and knowledge, and no one else. So, just ignore him and continue on your usual posting pace. Peace all.

Yeah, I've been on the GSN Boards, and one of my friends says how on of the people (PPatters) acts like he's the almighty person of Game Shows. And he's right!

Alias10? What a wimp! You can at least tell who you are. You're probably one of the idiots like DesperadoII or something. And Sean Snow, why don't you post at the GSN Message Boards? A little intimidated? Jealous? Sean Snow, you may have your "posse", but your group of ignorance doesn't even have the combined IQ of Lennie from "Of Mice and Men".
Sean Snow

First of all, I'm not really into gameshows, much less The Game Show Network. Now, if I we have that IQ, then you most have one of Lenny on Laverne & Shirley
PPatters

Ooo good comeback, though my metaphor was much better, of course, given the fact that Lennie from "Of Mice and Men" was mentally retarded, and he exceeds you in IQ points by at least ten times, we can only assume that you don't understand the difference between a good metaphor and a poor one.
