One category of cashing in that continues to grow is the
conversion of sitcoms into a feature films. The landscaped is littered with bombs, "Beverly Hillbillies" and "Car 54, Where are You" are two examples. The hits have been big moneymakers, hence two "Brady" features. What sitcom do you think deserves the treatment, or are likely candidates? Rumors have been around for a years that a "Bewitched" film was in the works. At one point it was reported that Meryl Streep (!) would play Samantha and more recently, Gwyneth Paltrow has been spun as the perfect wife with a secret. A "Jeannie" feature is reportedly in the pipeline, with PR flacks fanning the flames that Brittany Spears would be perfect in the title role. Penny Marshall has gone on record that she would love to do a "Laverne and Shirley" reunion, but only as a feature. So far, no one has bitten. Share your thoughts on what you would like/pray not to see. Fill in the casting blanks. Who do you see in the title role of, say, Archie Bunker or Mr. Drummond? What rumors have you read about?

Warning: Anyone who dares to mention that no-talent sponge/coke whore, Tom Arnold, as a potential Archie, Ralph Kramden or the newest Fred Flinstone, will be forced to view the collective editions of his three failed sitcoms.

Here is the url for a club devoted to spin-offs, rip offs and other cheap excuses to cash in. Ah, Hollywood.
