I seem to recall hearing that Mike and Carol Brady were the first. I could be wrong, but I think I remember hearing that recently.

I think it was Herman and Lily Munster. I'm not too sure about that though.

That is untue. It was a 1947-1951 sitcom who's name escapes me, all I know that "Mary Kay" was part of it's title. I think it was called "Mary Kay and Johnny"

It was mentioned on Pop Up Brady once, they showed tons of them including the Flintstones.

Sean's right -- it's Mary Kay and whoever. I think I read that they were married in real life, which made sharing the same bed more acceptable (Lucy and Ricky/Desi did as well in the Connecticut years of "I Love Lucy")

It looks like they were in a single bed, but it was actually two single beds pushed together. The beds were separated once Lucy became pregnant.

Yes that's right! I remember that now! I guess the Powers That Be thought that 2 single beds pushed together was not very suggestive?! Well Lucy got pregnant anyway! Wonder how THAT happened?!!!!!!!!!!
