Personally, I don't find prank calls very funny.
A few years ago someone decided that it'd be a laugh to start prank-calling my house at all hours of the day and night. They'd phone up when my dad was at work and tell my mother that he was having an affair and that someone was going to kill him.
My mother didn't find it very funny either.

I don't find prank phone calls or practical jokes funny at all. Prank and obscene phone calls are a big problem on my college campus.

Alright I HATE prank calling so much... a few weeks ago I was home alone, and for those of you who know me, I am SO scared of being home alone. So anyways I heard the phone ring and since I was sick, I just let it ring. I went up to check the messages and this freaky ass person on my machine goes-

"ha ha ha......" and OMG I dropped the phone and screamed Bloody Murder I was so scared. I never found out who it was either. It was just SO scary... *shudders*

i got in trouble for prank calling a # of times the first time was when I was in 4th grademe my friend malory and my brother joe had this clueless phone that changed ur voice into this like deep man's voice do joe called my friends house and asked for my friends sister danielle and she got on the phone and my brother was like pretendin to be a killer on a cell phone in her house and I been to there house a lot and i knew everything in there so I would tell joe what to say and she got reallly scared. Then I called my friend ashley over (danielle's sister) and she came over my house and left danielle alone and then ashley told us more things like what danielle was wearing so we got her even more scared and she was walkin around with a knife ashley said.then danielle called her mom @ work and then her mom called the police and then the police came to her house and we called bak and the po po's answered and we hung up then they called my house bak and we got prosecuted and I wasnt allowed to go to disney world.

and another time at a school dance my friend nikki asked me to hold her mom's cell phone and me and my friend abby went into the bathroom w/ it and we called all these houses and on one I said i was like muuuuuurrrrrrrdaaaaaaaaa on their answering machine and then they called nikki's mom bak and nikki said we did it and then her mom called our moms and we got in trouble.

Whenever I call my friend Steph's personal line (not her house line or whatver-- she is the only one to answer the phone) I always pretend I am a telemarketer from MCI. She HAS MCI and they still are constantly calling her. It's kinda funny, but she knows its me. :(

I really hate prank phone calls! People call my grandparents sometimes and they call at like 3AM.

They call my house every now and then. It gets really frustrating when ppl do that too. Its like you're eating or sick or asleep and then somebody that obviously has no sense calls you up and says nothing or says something stupid to scare the heck outta ya.

:sighs: Some ppl.

(I'm done now :D)

Oh I love prank calling people. I did it a few weeks ago, I just make up phone numbers and ask if Kristina is there. Even though I am Kristina, I get a kick out of saying "sorry I have the wrong number!"

Not to rain on anybody's parade, but we live in the era of Caller ID and *69. You could seriously get in a lot of trouble for prank calling somebody.

And I know there are ways of blocking your number, but they're not foolproof.

Any rate, I'd stay away from prank calling altogether because it's just an awful thing to do to people. Respect your fellow human being.

That's why you call people that don't have caller ids :)

Right, but as I stated above, there are ways of getting around the *67 or *82 ID block.

I don't prank call people. It isn't really funny to me, but I guess it COULD be funny if you can take a joke.

A few times, when telemarkers called, I said in a breathy, whispery tone, "Are you naked? I am!!!" They hung up and I had a nice laugh. :happyface

 When telemarkes call my house anyways when they call, they ask for [i]everyone!!! So at the end when they finally stop bugging me I just say "Look crazy people- no one lives here but me! a 12 year old girl. I don't pay the bills. Every adult in my house died, so I'm alone. So stop calling here!"

:D

I sometimes feel sorry for telemarketers. They have to phone people up and they just know that they're gonna get a bad reaction. Although they do get paid about 8 quid an hour - I'd be willing to put up with all kinds of sh#t for 8 quid an hour!!!
One time I was at a friends house and someone called up trying to sell stuff. Her dad answered the phone and when he found out what the call was for he said to the person "Hey - have you ever heard this sound before?" The person on the other end of the line said "What sound?". My friends dad then said " This sound!" and put the phone down!!

Telemarketers. Ugh! I hate 'em. I let my answering machine answer all my calls, and I have Telezapper attached to cut off many of the calls. You want to give them a bad time, then more power to you! ;)

However... here's some more rain on your parade:

Prank calls are harassment, plain and simple. They are annoying. They are not in the least bit funny. They are, in fact, cruel.

They are technically considered to be "nuisance" calls and are against the law. Take a look at your telephone company directory. I'm sure there is a section there in which they state something like: "against state and federal laws." I know my phone company's phone book says that.

Please reconsider your actions the next time you feel inclined to make one of these hateful phone calls.

My sister is one of them. She gets cussed out everyday of her job. Well I know her she would say a few choiced words that I will not repeat and then hang up. She is good for the job cause she loves to talk.

lol. Ok prank calling USED to be my favorite hobby (I have NO idea why...). I love getting prank calls too, they're pretty entertaining (except when they just hang up, I mean get a little more creative. Oh, or the ones where ppl try to be silent and you can here them breathing.....haha) Ok, I always prank called ppl I knew, and they always knew it was my friend and I b/c well we always did it. And one Friday our plans were ruined and we thought it would be "cool" to have pizza's delivered to a friend of our house. Well, we called like....9 different pizza places ordering the most expensive things, and "cleverly" arranged for them to be ordered all at the time or close to it anyway. Well, EVERY pizza placed traced the call. They called back, told HER parents what had happened, and all together we owed the pizza places over $180.....the next day...her dad took us to ALL the pizza places we had called, gave us the money to pay them back, and we had to apologize to all the employees AND even worse.....he made us stop at the girl's house and tell her how sorry we were for being so stupid.......It was totally embarrassing, and one particular pizza place STILL remembers this "incident", and is so kind to continuously remind my parents. That pretty much ended my prank calling days.

:rotflmao: You're lucky you didn't have to pay for it too! That's a pretty funny story though! I can't believe all the pizza places traced the call. That's a little odd!

Um we DID pay for them.....actually our parents did, but we got to work MONTHS to repay them.....and not ALL the pizza places traced the call.....but see, they arrived at around the same time....and it made things SO much worse, and when we had to go to the girls house to apologize my friend's dad asked how many places we called........and the rest is history. God, I would have been so annoyed if some little brat like myself did that. I don't know what I was thinking...

Speaking of Pizza... my friend Kristen's mom works at a school. She's a Vice Principal. Well she was at a meeting one night and so we decided to have fun *evilly frin*.

We called a Pizza place in Delaware [where Kristen lives] and we ordered a pizza to her moms school. OMG we couldn't stop lauging. Her mom found out it was us, but she didn't care. And Kristen had to pay for it *smirks*
